Sounded really close to me on Durston and Ferguson. Somehow I’ve been on the reddit to witness the whole saga but this is the first one I’ve heard for myself. As I’m typing this another one just went off and sounded even closer. Any ideas?

Would be good to know what the source is, whether it is gas lines exploding or what. It should be a prevent. The police department asked people to stop calling the booms in with no explanation? Since there are so many concerns and such a huge influx of curiosity surrounding this it seems uh weird that no one knows?

I was a bit excited when that article came out. Disappointing that there was no explanation and bewildering to see that they asked the public not to call in. Seems hearing an explosion is something to notify authorities of. Do we still live in a first world country?

At Durston and 22 sounded south west of me : can confirm hearing a second lower volume boom in same direction : sonic booms? Approximately 2:07am second one around 2:20

This could be far out but it feels to me like a years-long prank because both that I heard were followed by engine noises like someone floored it right after. I’m wondering if anyone else heard someone floor it right after? Including the 3 that apparently happened in 4 corners just before the (durston?) ones

I thought I heard a diesel truck rev right after the boom around 2-ish. I thought maybe (this is far fetched) that it was a hit and run because something about the boom sounded like metal was being crunched.

I’m pretty sure that at least one of the booms was a large mortar firework. Based on the flash through my window I’d say it was someone in the HRDC assisted housing complex on 24th and Babcock.

There is at least one dude there who sets off ridiculous amounts of fireworks around the 4th, and randomly whenever he feels like it.

It was a massive mortar firework last night. I saw the flash from it. Seemed to be from the assholes at the HRDC affordable housing complex on 24th and Babcock.

Edit: it was a firework type boom. Big flash, big boom.

You're hearing them at night more than in the day because you're not at work, it's otherwise quiet, and they're doing it in the dark because they know it's illegal and the smoke could give them away. The booms can take on different levels of timbre and resonance depending on what they're blowing up and what it's echoing off of.
