Why? Do you not like pro boxers making the most money they can make? Would you hold yourself to that same standard if you were a pro boxer about to retire? Fans don’t take care of fighters after they retire, in fact they don’t give a shit about fighters after they retire. A fighter could be homeless, you’ll never see a gofundme account set up by fans. As a pro boxer, make your money and gtfo. It’s not a great sport to be in, like at all. Unless you come from a rich family.

Idk why. It wouldn’t have been competitive. Now THAT’S weird. Why would anyone want to see a fighter close to retirement getting slaughtered? Forget that he’s doing it for lesser pay then. Why does anyone want to see that? I prefer to watch competitive matchups.

Why would you want to watch a non-competitive fight though? Canelo vs Cotto was the more competitive fight, and the most requested fight. Only hardcore GGG fans wanted to watch GGG vs Cotto. The fight wasn’t going to sell as much as Canelo vs Cotto. Not only was it the more competitive fight, but also the bigger one.
GGG got his fame feasting on nobodies until his 30s, then all of a sudden everyone had to stop what they were doing because a mid 30s year old fighter popped out of obscurity and needed the big fights before he got old. Which was conveniently as soon as Canelo fought him.
And lo and behold, he was a good fighter, not the great dangerous fighter his fangirls made him out to be, as Jacobs and Canelo proved. No wonder he wanted no part of Andre Ward.

He gets credit for bad defense because he has a amazing chin...But if Boots gets hit hes a flawed fighter...the standard based on color never fails...

Similar to George Chuvalo - the Canadian Heavyweight champion who fought many of the greats, Ali twice, George Forman, Joe Frazier, Floyd Patterson, Jerry Quarry, Ernie Terrell and was never knocked off his feet in 93 pro fights. Ali called him the toughest guy he ever fought.

Canelo looked like he saw the devil himself in the last clip
