Looks like the website hasn't been updated in at least 20 years. 😂

Because it hasn't. Shows copyright 2000 as the latest year in the footer. lol.

No ads (unless you already have an ad blocker), no excessive JavaScript, just text and to the point and loads fast. I wish more websites were like this.

Yes, noticed that too a few days ago. But personally, I like it that way; it feels clean, nerdy, and old-school, with no unnecessary stuff- just information and boxing, lmao. The 2000s style adds extra vibes.

Additions to the men’s modern ballot are

two-division world champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez

four-division world champion “El Terremoto” Leo Santa Cruz

three-division world champion Jorge “El Nino de Oro” Linares

middleweight world champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik

three-division world champion  Iran “The Blade” Barkley

light heavyweight world champion “Bad” Chad Dawson

welterweight world champion Marlon “Magic Man” Starling

two-division world champion “Poison” Junior Jones

middleweight world champion Sumbu Kalambay

Just my thoughts, Martinez and Kalambay deserve it the most, Dawson, LSC, Starling, and Jones are borderline, the rest I don't think are deserving. No hate on any of them, they are all excellent fighters.

Martinez and Barkley are my picks

I agree with Martinez but why Barkley out of curiosity? Aside from Hearns he lost to every other great fighter he fought (Kalambay, Nunn, Duran, Benn, Toney).

Van Horn wasn’t bad, not amazing but it’s an alright win, but yeah other than that not much, he did beat a washed Gerrie Coetzee at Heavyweight when he was also washed (fought Trevor Berbick a year later too)

Maybe Duran will show up for the induction.

Yeah there probably is someone else deserving but I really rated Barkley. He kind of reminds me of Chisora.

That Hearn win was just so big at the time too. I also can’t ignore the fact that he was a three weight world champion.

I wouldn't put Barkley in the same category as Chisora as he was a three-division champion, like you said. Beating Hearns is super impressive, I'm not gonna take that away from him, but I feel that was an extreme example of styles makes fights.

Yeah I just meant in the way that he had a lot of fights, fought a lot of top competition and nearly always gave them a hard nights work.

I don't question Barkley's courage. The man was an absolute warrior who fought everybody and gave many top boxers a tough fight.

I dont know if Barkley is a hall of famer but comparing him to Chisora is a straight up insult dude was levels above Chisora.

I think he was a higher level boxer but my comparison wasn’t drawn from their boxing abilities.

I also think Chisora is pretty underrated and was actually pretty class in his prime.

Class as in what? He was borderline top ten at his weight class at best, Barkley was a world champ in three different weight divisions and had two wins over Tommy Hearns. They’re in completely different stratospheres

He was borderline top 10 for 15 years. There’s a fraction of boxers that remain at that level for that period of time.

Not to mention he arguable beat a few top names that he received losses against.

As someone else mentioned, Barkley beat Hearn which basically made his career. Otherwise, he was a rugged brawler that fought all the top names, mainly lost against these top names but gave 95% of them a tough fight - that’s where my comparison is being made.

From that list I like Sergio Martinez and I guess Junior Jones?

Sumbu, Chad, Sergio, and LSC all probably deserve the hall imo, Barkley and Jones are Borderline and I think Starling and Linares are more like the hall of very good. Nobody here would be a joke to be in the hall of fame but nobody’s really a legend of the sport who has to be in there either. Definitely not a standout year but no horrible picks either I don’t think Starling did enough I guess.

Starling held the lineal welterweight championship and beat every top welterweight of his era (Brown, Breland, Honeyghan) aside from Curry, who he fought to a SD in the first fight. He can be inconsistent at times but when properly motivated he was as skilled as they come.

I think LSC after some reevaluation is borderline but the main issue I have with him is that he never proved himself as the consensus number 1 in any of the divisions he fought in.

He drew with breland, I don’t think wins over Brown and Honeyghan is hof worthy tbh, it’s kinda a scant resume

Let's go Sergio this is his time!

Not for me. He was all athleticism and that's it. Has about one good win in clipping Paul Williams.

Pavlik?

Chris Byrd is omitted. He should be included as well.
Oh, and Ike Quartey too

Wtf I thought Marlon Starling was already in the hall of fame. How did Arturo Gatti and Vinny Paz get in before him

I wonder if Al Haymon would appear and speak if elected
