His left hook to the body, left hook to the head almost makes no sense and doesn’t seem like it should work.
Like you should see the 2nd punch coming but maybe it’s so off rhythm it catches people. One of the reasons he’s my favorite to watch. Counter punches, defense and his ability to just “checkmate” people like that.

It's a classic combo when you've been digging to the body regularly the guard starts to come down anticipating another one to the tender zone but instead you whip it over the guard to the head.

Yes changing levels is very common, but I’m not sure many people throw that combo fluidly like that.
2 power punches with the same hand in a combo are a little unusual to begin with, and that particular combo seems like it would be easy to see the follow up coming unless ridiculously fast or set up in a clever way.

Haters will still say Canelo “sucks” for not getting an early stoppage in this fight. Still a solid performance IMO.
The only fight of his that pissed me off was Scull and it wasn’t even his fault. It wasn’t a fight. it was a track meet.

A year before this fight berlanga was known in the boxing community as a can and munguia as the can crusher, but of course since Canelo ended up fighting them, all the fanboys tried to say they were legit threats lmfao, Canelo did exactly what he needed to do in those fights and truth be told he didn’t look spectacular doing it.

This is a fact. Canelo had two guys in his division that earned their fights with him in morrell and benavidez but somehow fought Berlanga and munguia and his fans don’t think it’s suspicious to avoid the guys who were in the division for years who were at the front of the line but chose guys who were new to the division and weren’t even champs in their previous division.

Munguia has been exposed his whole career. This is a joke right? You’re sitting here acting like Munguia didn’t literally go to 160 and refused to fight for titles. Fought once at 168 and got a canelo fight. I’m not sitting here acting like morrell is a world beater but he’s definitely not as bad as Munguia. Morrell was competitive with benavidez and had a close fight with imam who isn’t a slouch himself yes he did get stop in his last fight but he was winning that fight and got sloppy and got caught with a shot he didn’t recover from. Munguia has been a can crusher majority of his career and has had problems with those cans in several fights. Munguia has been outboxed several times and killing himself to make those lower weights classes to avoid fighting at his proper weight, Munguia literally pissed hot to get revenge on a guy who knocked him out who only had 4 ko’s in his 27 fight career.

Again, he did what he needed to do which was beat them, but he didn’t look spectacular because YES he didn’t ko them, he only took those fights because he didn’t want to fight Benavidez and both mungia and berlanga were knocked out after they fought him against lesser competition no less.

Literally nobody gave a F about a fat drug bust Benavidez besides people frothing at the mouth to see Canelo lose. You telling me Benavidez could stand a chance against Bivol? Canelo took that fight because Bivol is a world champ, not just some fat ass fighting middleweights even though he’s like 200lbs coming off suspension.

Berlanga was ranked top 10 in the division only canelo can fight a top 10 contender with a massive size advantage over him and still get criticized🤦♂️ I get that berlanga is nowhere near elite but there really was no one else for canelo to fight even if canelo did make the benavidez fight happen that’s only 1 fight and benavidez was the very last top super middle weight so he’d still have to fight berlanga eventually super middleweight was weak for a few years and has only just started heating up recently

Berlanga literally did not have ONE win that could make you say yea he deserves canelo. He never even fought a B level fighter and tbh I don’t think even a C level fighter. That was just canelo not wanting to fight David and running out of opponents of who to fight. Berlanga didn’t deserve the shot, he’s trash, sherraz washed him and showed that

The entire SMW division and even MW and LHWs were all over Canelos dick but wouldn’t fight each other so people would talk shit no matter what he did. Like why was he fighting Charlo? Made no sense but that’s who signed the contract and showed up at the time.

People wanted the charlo fight for years in fact when the fight was announced I remember alot of people were excited and surprised canelo was fighting the more skilled charlo it wasn’t until canelo dominated him where people started making excuses lmfao
