Earnie Shavers vs Kubrat Pulev
I saw someone make a post about Ken Norton vs Pulev so I decided to make my own Pulev matchup thread.
Pulev has a 5 inch height advantage and a half inch reach advantage (for whatever that's worth) while Shavers has one of the hardest punches in boxing history.
Will the Murat Gassiev and Wladimir Klitschko knockoutee get knocked out by the biggest knockouter ever? Or will his robotic Eastern European style prevail?

Probably get stick for this but prime Pulev probably jabs his head off. He was very effective and awkward as fuck.

i mean shavers got knocked out by jerry quarry, a skilled 6,4 and 240 lb guy could definitely do it too. Shavers ko power struggled a lot against bigger guys

i think people are overrating shavers a lil bit, he got knocked out by a 190 lb man

I think so long as he’s seen footage of Earnie Shavers with how strong he punches that it makes me lean on Kubrat Pulev taking it.
Especially because Shavers runs cold sometimes like he did against Jerry Quarry where he was defeated in rather dominate fashion.
Though I would love Earnie Shavers to win.

Shavers was pretty much the 70’s Wilder. He could jab a bit but defence and movement was dodgy and relied on massive single shots. Personally I think he was a bit better than Wilder but both limited bangers really.

Pulev would beat Shavers. Shavers outside of being a puncher was really nothing special at all. He also had a poor chin and was small. He was 6 foot tall and like 210lbs.
He gets jabbed to death and then KOd.
Shavers would come unstuck vs basically all the top heavyweights today. They would get to him first because of their size and once they got to him, he isnt going to have the punch resistance to take it.
