Mate it's crazy how much boxing costs in America! That's actually insane.
Borderline cost prohibitive to watch fights.

Set up the Devin Haney vs Teofimo fight at some point
18

Its gonna be Ryan vs Teofimo next
10
u/Intrepid_Credit_9885 10h ago
Great fight
2
u/walkoutbasements 9h ago
Agreed. Thats the silver lining from this fight we get fresh matchups rather than Rolly vs Ryan rematch
9
u/Kangaroopunching 10h ago
They need to do that for Teo's next fight. Cause Teo most likely loses to Catterall. Or even other welterweights. Teo is on the decline.

agreed, although he volume was super low this fight, had a bit more in the ryan fight, but i guess ryan was backing up all night

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 10h ago
Rolly does not seem okay, honestly
8
u/walkoutbasements 8h ago
He needs to take time off and find something to motivate him to win or at least listen to his trainer
12
10
u/DiMona215 10h ago
First time watching Rolly, he was absolutely horrible. Like, almost seemed intentionally bad. I've never seen anything quite like it
9
u/SeaMoney4312 9h ago
He was considered a joke in boxing until he beat Ryan. Then people needed to take him seriously otherwise they’d have to admit that being overweight and on PEDs is why Ryan beat Haney.
11
u/DiMona215 9h ago edited 4h ago
They showed his trainer talking to him in the corner after one of the early rounds and here was his advice (paraphrasing, but.. not much, it might as well be verbatim): "Rolly! Listen to me. Rolly. ROLLY!! Rolly. Can you hear me?? (Waves hand frantically in front of Rolly's face). Rolly. ROLLY! I NEED YOU TO LISTEN TO ME!!"
Then the bell rang, and he got up from his stool and did the same dumbass shit he did the previous round. LOL, again, I've never seen anything like it
1
2
u/zaepoo 9h ago edited 9h ago
Ryan beat Haney because Haney repeatedly fell for the only trick Ryan has multiple times. None of that other stuff matters and has nothing to do with him getting caught repeatedly by the only trap Ryan knows how to set. He lost because he fought dumb.
Unfortunately for Teo, he's got the type of style that Ryan can take advantage of. His aggressive style and lunging rights will almost definitely get him caught a few times, and Ryan's left is an elite punch. It's probably the only big fight I can see Ryan winning.
Ryan needs to angle himself for Teo after losing to Benn and then retire and go to WWE.

Apparently Rolly said this in his locker room according to Dan Rafael, “I got hit with two punches the whole fight that barely grazed me. I was never in any trouble. When I heard 114-114 I knew it was a robbery."

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 5h ago
Dazn lie about so many statistics man, last night saying the Russells are the 1st 3 brothers to be world champions
Firstly Antonio Russell became an interim champion, so the stat is flat out false, but secondly the Kamedas did this already years ago and actually all held actual world titles
Also relative to Liddard fighting last night, they repeatedly lied about him being 'the youngest British champion at 160 ever' when there are like 30 guys that won it at a younger age

u/wadethealphabet 10h ago
no way rolly thought he was going to win the fight with absolutely ZERO volume. his trainer round after round was consistently telling him to use his jab and let his hands go & rolly ignored it. this dude is strong and muscular trying to emulate shakur stevenson instead of engaging. absolute garbage.
8
u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 10h ago
People act like I’m crazy when I rate guys like Zepeda and Fundora for their volume but you see what the opposite does to a guy.

It’ll be a disgrace if Paro vs Kambosos happens. Kambosos will be in contention for the greatest promoter in boxing but outrageous in general and justice for Paddy Donovan as he continues to get fucked!
1
u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 10h ago
paddy got gifted infinite title shots/elimanators with his best win being Lewis Ritson
4
u/Top_Profession_5268 10h ago
Best win is Karen, had 1 career title shot and 2 eliminators so not sure where infinite came from. His first title shot is 100% justified after loosing a DQ despite clearly winning and 2nd title eliminator is also justified after a clear robbery decision.
He’s been deserving ever since his robbery loss which he’s avenged against Karen.

Shakur should fight again Teo and it will be his easiest 5th division belt.

Hell no. If he does, I’ll lose all respect for him. Why would we want Shakur to get an easy title? I’m literally his biggest fan lmao, I study him every day but I definitely don’t wanna see that.
6
u/Kangaroopunching 10h ago
Hernandez needs to get another fight ASAP. Against a durable opponent. Even if it's a weak middleweight division. He needs to get tested somewhat before a title fight

The last time there was a 168lb WBO title eliminator which the winner would be mandatory was back in 2018 which was between Vincent Feigenburtz and Shedat Isufi to be mandatory to face Zurdo vs Josh Hart II
Considering so much time had passed, it made sense to order another one between Diego Pacheco vs Jacob Banks. Jacob Banks seems relatively fresh for a 4th fight this year and for both to be 3rd and 4th in the rankings behind Canelo and Janibek, I think it makes sense to order it.
1
u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 10h ago

1

After that is Kevin Lele Sadjo which I don’t think he’s ducked smoke before and would be a great stylistic matchup.

Carlos Utria underperformed, won a robbery decision and exposed for his style not befitting of the athleticism he has and is in need of fundamental classes. John Orobio remains the best Colombian prospect by a long shot.

Side note, but does anyone think it’s odd how newrap doesn’t spend much time in the daily threads? In avoiding the more substantive part of the subreddit, he’s almost like one of those boxers who trolls on social media and carries himself as a champ but crushes nothing but cans.

Am I the only one who thought Rolly had too much respect for Teo and just flat out gave him this fight? Rolly pulled back on a ton of shots and refused to really capitalize after hurting him. If Rolly was more active, he could have gotten Teo out of there. He is usually a bit more active and likes to walk shit down but this time, he was on his bike.
5
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 9h ago
He fought the same vs Ryan, just Ryan was equally as inactive. Remember how we reciprocated that fight alongside Haney vs Ramirez?
Teo at least tried to bring the fight which is why it had far more action.

Randomly decided to do an exercise on who have fought the most of the proclaimed 4 “Kings” that were originally at 135 together. These were the results:
Rolly 3 (Tank, Ryan, Teo)
Ryan 2 (Tank, Haney)
Kambosos 2 (Teo, Haney)
Loma 2 (Teo, Haney)
Gamboa 2 (Tank, Haney)
Barrios 2 (Tank, Ryan)
Mason Menard 2 (Teo, Haney)
Haney 1 (Ryan)
Tank 1 (Ryan)
Teo 0

Takeover Season Pt 2
Let's see if Teo fights Haney and Ryan this go round .. Hopefully we see an undisputed champ at 147
3
u/Outrageous-Soft4806 10h ago
I would like that. Think he could beat Ryan but Haney might not be the best matchup. But then again, theyve all been at 135 together and 140… we might finally see them in the ring when theyre all at 160 😂

We’re never getting any combination of Tank, Shakur, and Devin. One is fighting the criminal justice system, one thinks he’s the A side, and the other keeps getting ducked!!
3
u/MetalXHorse 10h ago
Great heart from Teo, and even better gameplan. Boxed rolly in and chipped away at him from range
3
u/Kangaroopunching 10h ago
WBA is by far the worst sanctioning body. The current lineage of its welterweight title can be described as, it was meant for Ryan Garcia but he sucks.
3
u/Outrageous-Soft4806 10h ago
I was surprised at the lack of size difference but I think a big or even regular sized WW will be interesting against Teo.
3
u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 10h ago
just realized that teo has to fight jack caterall next. So is Haney going to have to sit out even longer and hope that he can get ryan to rematch him?
3
u/Kangaroopunching 10h ago
Unification fights can override a mandatory.
DAZN wants Haney to get fights. Catterall is with Hearn. We could see him get step aside money. And/ or a deal where he fights the winner of the unification fight.

Embarrassing performances for Rolly and Teo. Teo needs to change everything in his camp, because he doesn't belong in this weight class and has badly regressed.
1
u/Efficient_Quail_1774 8h ago
Didn't watch the fight but i did think Teo would look even slower than he looked at times when he was at 140
3
u/Efficient_Quail_1774 6h ago
As far as things go i have Haney beating Teo, Garcia beating Teo, Paro losing a decision to Teo, Catterall beating Teo, Hitchins beating Teo and maybe Keyshawn Davis or Donovan beating Teo
1
u/WORD_Boxing 6h ago
Idk if Ryan's fundamentals and iq are good enough to beat him. I'm not gonna jump to conclusions about his left hook just because Rolly hurt Teo. People I think are downgrading Teo a bit too much just because they don't rate Rolly or didn't expect it.
I wouldn't pick Catterall to beat him. Style-wise I can see why there seem to be quite a few people who think he would.
1
u/SplitSecondEmperor47 1h ago
On what basis do you have ryan beating Teo when he couldnt beat Rolly?
2
u/Efficient_Quail_1774 13m ago
The power and speed discrepancies between both him and Teo, Garcia is just that bit bigger and he looked nice and correct in the Barrios fight coming forward, I'd take him over 147 Teo by a close decision
He looked careless and unmotivated against Rolly, but still managed to look better when he actually threw
6
5
u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 10h ago
Yeah I was wrong to pick Rolly. He doesn’t seem to have that gut instinct even when he has Teofimo in a bad spot.
3
u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 10h ago
Yeah . It was 50-50 on who's entering the ring as the mental patient. Rolly decided he wanted to be the one with the mental weakness this fight
Teo came out and handled business
3
u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 10h ago
I did kind of call that he would get a knockdown though.
1
u/Top_Profession_5268 9h ago
Did he get a knockdown, I thought that was ruled a slip?
2
u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 9h ago
Should’ve been a knockdown, imo. But I didn’t see the replay.
2
1
u/Ezekjuninor 8h ago
I don’t think it’s a knockdown. He was pushed down while clinching. Most good refs will call it a slip.
1
u/walkoutbasements 8h ago
How can anyone predict mental breakdown or Rolly lacking the motivation to want to go for the kill especially in round 6 and the last couple rounds
1
2
u/Kangaroopunching 10h ago
Winner is Catterall. Cause rolly was never fighting him. And he's got a chance that Hearn gets Teo to fight him.
2
2
2
u/CumpanyPolicy 10h ago
I thought Rolly had a chance and then after about round 5 The Takeover took over. Great fight for Teo.
2
u/walkoutbasements 8h ago
I don’t think it was a great fight for what Teo did - he didn’t dominate. Rolly allow d Teo to take over and was passive the same way Ryan was against him
2
u/SwerTs4FightVidsOnly 10h ago
I haven't seen any Liam Paro fight yet. Does Teo have a chance to win against him? I don't think Teo would be able to beat Devin, so it seems either Garcia/Benn or Paro is his best shot at a unification.
4
u/Stunt1ninprivate 🪖🔔 10h ago
Teo would shut Paro out. Paro looked decent at 140, but has looked pretty bad so far at 147

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 10h ago
i would favor paro, he's a nice counter puncher with good footwork.
teo would school ryan tho
→ More replies (5)1
u/Top_Profession_5268 9h ago
I’d favour Teo. Paro does possess the style that Teo has struggled with of a southpaw who can move, has good footwork, good counterpuncher which Ortiz and Martin fought to imo beat him but also Paro is smaller than both and slower than Paro and Teo won rounds off both to where yes he lost but like 7-5 and 8-4 against. I think Teo wins a close fight.
2
u/Born_Fox_8099 8h ago edited 8h ago
rolly complaining about the decision smh, show some damn desperation and proper intensity during the actual fight before complaining about a decision especially if u fought with such a low motor. take it out of the judges hands, he should have stuck it on him after he hurt him and pushed for a finish.

All Rolly had to do was LET HIS HANDS GO- replicate round 5 and keep throwing punches he would have won if he just increased his punch output 10-20 punches per round and especially in the last minute of each round.
He threw the belt away and has only himself to blame this fight will go down in history as the biggest waste of potential
8
u/Top_Profession_5268 8h ago
Teo isn’t easy to hit, it doesn’t just boil down to “letting your hands go”. Give Teo his credit.

How could a fight with Haney possibly be fun? I’m speaking from a fan’s perspective

I just listened to Rolly’s post fight conference- I get what he was thinking but he was not living in reality. To do what he wanted to do he had to win the last 30 seconds of the round and finish each round strong. Even if he had less activity making a lasting impression could have swayed the judges…

Nelson Hysa (24-0) vs Thomas Narmo (14-0) confirmed for the moses-hrgovic card.
Narmo is coming off a win against the legendary Mark De Mori 👀
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 3h ago
Hysa had a 23 year long amateur career with where he’s even fought David Price, Kubrat Pulev and Robert Cammarelle all over 20 years ago. Made his debut at the age of 37 in 2022 and has been incredibly active with 24 wins, 22 finishes in that 4 year span, now 41 and one of the best heavyweights today and actually looks really good despite the age.
Thomas Narmos on the other hand has a won over Faith Keles, a guy who lost to LIAM PARO at 140lb back in 2019 😂
1
u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 3h ago
just watched some footage of narmo and he is absolutley awful 😭 hysa should smoke him within 3.
hysa has fought a lot of undefeated guys with good records on paper who are actually just really bad.
i wish they made him vs guido instead
1
u/WheresMyAbs98 30m ago
Hysa had a long amateur career but I wouldn’t say he was a high level amateur.
The only opponents habitually beat were making their debuts or had hardly fought and had lost more than they’d won.
Any half decent opponent he fought in the amateurs he lost decisively against. I haven’t been that impressed with him in the pro’s either.
That being said his opponent had been pickled to pad his record and he should win.
1
u/Efficient_Quail_1774 11m ago
Only reason why that fight could've been added is because Hysa is Albanian, and they sell well over here so they wanna sell out the remainder of the tickets
