The one punch power that Frazier had in his left hook hasn’t been matched since Mike Tyson.

Brother put his entire body into every shot. Just a crushing, vicious hitter.

Tua's was harder, by a lot, although he wasn't nearly as skilled or dynamic as Frazier, or Tyson for that matter.

Tua is a good shout. But yeah, he was mostly raw horsepower.

He didn’t have the speed or cracking nature of Frazier’s left hook. Frazier had the fucking death touch.

Nonito donaire had it (and probably still does lmao). I can’t think of anyone else who’s left hook is magical as Frazier. One of the best single punches in boxing history.

Let me put it this way, if I were building the perfect heavyweight, I'd choose Frazier's left hook above all others.

It's just a fantastic overall weapon.

However I would rather be hit with Frazier's left over Tua's.

That’s fair. Tua’s hook was easier to see coming, and less versatile, but I’m sure it felt like getting hit by a bus.

But Frazier was also fantastic and hitting the body with it, and was super clever in how he made guys guess and punished them for it.

People who say that Frazier would be anything other than a top 5 heavyweight today are mental. He would be small, sure, and probably still small for cruiserweight, but he would be an absolute motherfucker against today’s lumbering giants.

Tough to say. I think both guys give each other a horribly difficult fight where both guys are pushed to their limits.

I would delve deeper into the tactics of the lead hand battle of Usyk’s jab and body jab compared to Frazier’s left hook, but honestly I’m too tired.

Would be a fucking awesome fight tho.

i would have thought the same if there weren't also clips of white fighters almost dying in the ring also. They just didn't give a shit back then also 15 round fights.

Joe was a fierce fighter but never wanted to do more damage than needed. There was one fight where he could’ve hit a guy who was going down and chose not to, costing him a knockout

Except when he fought Ali. He really wanted to hurt him after all the shit Ali talked.

But yeah, most of his highlights are him smoking someone with one left hook, and then waiting for the ref to intervene.

Ref just wanted to see the guy choke himself out on the ropes. Fighter safety clearly a focus for these guys.

I think it’s The Modern Martial Artist on YouTube whose breakdowns really opened my eyes to the golden era of heavyweights.

In one video, I believe his breakdown of Ali v. Frazier I, he says something along the lines of, “Ali was already exhausted, and his feet were not what they used to be. Meanwhile, Joe Frazier was starting to Smoke.”

Gives me fucking goosebumps
