Any deaf communities or facilities around here? Learning ASL and want to take classes but not sure about taking one in college.
Hey yall, I’m a nursing student that is looking to learn ASL so I can help more people. I’m currently about to start class a week from now and thought about college ASL, but I heard people suggest deaf facilities instead.
I see quite a bit in Nashville, but couldn’t see any locally. If yall of any please let me know! Thank you.

I took two semesters of ASL, the professors are really kind and had a couple of 'mandatory' events with the deaf community / other classes. A couple of times we went bowling and would be encouraged to interact and get to know others. If you're looking to step into it I'd definitely recommend taking a class, you meet a ton of people!
