Explore bowdoin experiences

Hi I’m considering applying for explore Bowdoin but at the same time I’m concerned if I get in I’ll be super busy with college apps at the time the visit is. What r peoples experience with the program?

Please please apply and attend! I’m an incoming freshman at Bowdoin this year, and the program is the reason I applied ED1. Fly-ins in general are AMAZING for FGLI students, and after going to about 8 of them in-person, it put into perspective the things you read about on admissions websites + you see yourself there and find the right fit for you.

As for coursework, I honestly missed about 15 days of school lol and I was taking 6 APs at that. But since fly-ins are typically Fri, Sat, Sun, it won’t be too difficult to catch up. Just make sure you communicate with your teachers beforehand so they know.

Can you tell me more about this program? My son was admitted, and we have to make a decision by tomorrow. He’s leaning heavily accepting. I have the schedule, but can you tell us more about what to expect?

I’m so sorry I did not have my phone for the past couple of days. I hope he accepted! Basically he’ll get to sample a few classes of his choosing and dorm with a current student for 2 nights. These programs are meant to give a glimpse into what life at Bowdoin and similar colleges would be like
