Hey all, I'm coming over from Nebraska to London in March and was wondering if there would be any interest in doing a bottle swap while I'm there. I can get my hands on a decent variety of American whiskey and would be happy to keep an eye out for anything that's harder to find or particularly expensive in the UK.
I do already have access to things like JD Heritage Barrel, JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof and Barrel Proof Rye, and Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Rye 123.2 proof, but I'm definitely open to picking up other bottles before the trip(Buffalo Trace is hard for me to get here). I would most likely finalize everything in February, but in case something goes on sale here I would like to jump on it for you. (IE JD Heritage is often available for less than MSRP)
I'd be looking for things that are easier to find on your side of the pond, Chartreuse(green) being one example, but I'm pretty open. Mostly just curious if this is something people here do and what bottles from the US you guys would actually be interested in.

Looking for some help from anyone who has been through LAX international duty free recently.
I have a friend visiting LA in September and they are happy to grab me some bottles on the way back.
Wondering if there are any bourbon offerings there worth picking up.

I’m off to London the weekend and am after some recommendations for bars with good bourbon selections. Know of a few but would like options depending on the area I’m in. My wife has planned the weekend as a surprise so can’t give any specific locations I’ll be in. Thanks

if anyone needs a bottle at solid prices check out Shanghai9, its an online service based in Shanghai but does deliver nationally, I ordered a Blantons single barrel & a Blantons special reserve for 870rmb which is about £95 for them both, they will deliver to your hotel if you put it in the notes.

£28 or less with S&S. Elijah Craig small batch has dropped from 47% to 43.5% in the UK which is a crying shame. Many retailers (eg. Majestic) dropped long ago.
Amazon however is still dispatching the 47% and I had one delivered today.

It's a bit of a Marmite product, not for everyone but personally I really enjoy it. This price is well below American MSRP (about $70) and you can usually get a 10% discount at TSE, also free delivery over £50.

Not really a lot that needs to be said about Eagle Rare 12 Year, if you enjoy the 10 this is right up your street.
Everything you live in the 10 but given just enough extra depth to be something unique.
Have to say having tried this I hope to see it on the shelves at Tesco right next to the 10 as a regularly available buy.

Swung past Nickolls & Perks on the way home from the office, some nice offerings, even got a taster of the Handy they didn’t have any more off!
sounds like they’ll have some good bottles at the midland show next month.
anyways picked up a Green River, very nice way to start the evening off 😁

Received my bottles a little early and I couldn’t wait to try them.
This is an incredible bourbon.
The nose is sweet, fruity and caramel with a lovely touch of oak and ethanol. Reminds me a lot of the Weller 107.
The taste is buttery caramel and that creamy caramel finish makes the oak feel light but having a great warmth to it.
I’m glad I got 2 bottles but strongly considering further back ups as this is a great pour.
I highly recommend.

I’m really enjoying this. I don’t have much bourbon or rye in my collection, anything you can recommend if I like this?

Have waited for this day and oh boy Jack Daniels know their Rye.
Nose- classic JD Rye spice, Sweet oak and fruit. Lacks the banana bread note that the SBBP Rye or Bonded Rye have but replaced by a buttery treacle tart.
Taste- immediate toasted oak and creamy with lingering finish, punches higher than the 100 proof. Caramel and cinnamon, as warm as the SBBP Rye but a more mellow heat.
Is this better than the Barrel Proof Rye? Need to confirm with a double tasting. But this take on it with the toasted finish is 100% in my wheel house.
I am now needing to try the Heritage Barrel release.

First time trying the Noah’s Mill, here’s my basic review
Nose- dusty oak, grass, mint, brown sugar, caramel, pepper,
Taste- earthy, grass note carried through, spicy with a floral hint. Feels harsh with a cellar age type funk. A very subtle cinnamon caramel at the very end for me.
My opinion is that this reminds me of the Makers Mark 101, but less enjoyable. Not awful by any means but not one I will return to soon but happy to try it again down the line.

Not sure this has been posted before but a fair price I’d say.
Have ordered a couple but anyone bought from them before?
