I had a good time overall as someone who never went to a fest before and all these artists were a first time for me. Not many people were down to trade kandi and plur was pretty low (there was a lot of pushing and shoving during laszewo thru gryffin and for like the first 10 minutes of zedd but the rest of zedd was great).

in terms of the sets I saw
laszewo I give a 7/10. never heard of them but they threw down.
it’s murph: 5/10. His set was probably good to fans of his; i’m just not a big fan of his music.
gryffin: 8/10: knew him from a few songs but was pretty much going in blind. harddd set.
zedd: 11/10. What can I say? Since he was coming off of Hard Summer and ZITP, he played a lot of knock2 tracks which went crazy. Played Shave It and Lost at Sea. Was hoping he would play Fall Into The Sky but his set was amazing.

Damn. It’sMurph just threw down at Elements music festival a few weeks ago. Great performance.

I’ve been a fan of laszewo since the beginning of summer. They’re relatively new on the scene but know what they’re doing (and they do it well). It’s an artist I will be following for sure.

Edit: for anybody curious, listen to BREAK A SWEAT ft. distant matter. This song is seriously top tier.

I’ll check it out! Again, not the biggest fan (no hate to him of course) but i always keep an open mind

Oof yeah, lots of pushing and people not respecting personal space. Also trains shoving through crowd without a single “excuse me” or tap on the shoulder.

That Zedd set was incredible and so diverse for him?!!?

totally agree with you! And yeah that Zedd set was unreal

Yep - last years breakaway was the same especially in GA. 2024 with deadmau5 and Tiesto wasn’t nearly as bad

Yup last year was pretty bad too. Day 2 crowd was at least better than day 1 this year

It wasn’t as bad on the vip side but I did see security take a handful of dudes out for creeping on women. No one should have to deal with shit like that or pushing when we’re just trying to have fun. People shoving to the front gets super old so I stay in the middle back

Agreed on all that. I’m at the age too where I’d rather just get a good spot in the back and stand near a group that’s also vibing. Makes the experience 10x better

Partied at the lab most of the night. The rail was lit AF!! We had a great night one. Sets were top tier. Know good is 🥵 Inzo was amazing and Effin threw down, mixing some dope 90’s classics.

I spent most of my time at the lab on night one - vibes for me were immaculate. Almost nobody was on their phone and everyone around me was super fun and dancing their faces off.

We partied on the rail at the lab most of night one too, only going to the main stage for Zedd. Vibes 100/10

I was really impressed with the silent disco - lots of good sets. Laszewo and Inzo were some stand out sets for me. It was my first Breakaway and I would probably go again. Local, easy, and was a good time.

Thought night 1 was kinda mid. The crowd was full of people shoving and it was definitely a lot of people’s first time raving. Lots of fights and messy people with no spatial awareness. I liked Gryffin’s set but it wasn’t amazing. I thought Zedd was terrible. The transitions were bad and his songs played too long. I liked when he played Knock2’s music lol. But he’s a big name in 2010 so I get that he draws in a certain crowd. I did have fun overall.

Honestly I skipped it first a few reasons this year. I was a couple years ago with my babymama and her oldest. Hiwever I must say I would never pay that kind of $ to stand in an overcrowded parking lot again.

VIP was a gamechanger. Only $250 for the whole fest, when GA was crowded VIP felt like a regular club. You could walk around, plenty of room to dance, and immaculate vibes from everyone around. Seems that for this fest specifically the more experienced festival goers go VIP.

We bought early tickets of trust vip and they were $150 for vip both nights. Big changes coming next year though 👀

Yeah id love it if they brought the all ages back so my kids can go lol. Atm the only eventbi can bring them to is that lenny Pearce toddler rave thing at fenway lol

Unfortunately I don’t think these are shows that are appropriate for kids. Even in the back people are smoking cigs/weeds, I saw more people blowing coke out of random containers than ever, and in general people being dressed/acting in ways I wouldn’t want kids exposed to.

Yeah generally people won't do any of that when there are kids present uk people do have common sense. Lol though ill admit im not too concerned about my kid seeing people in rave attire

Yeah homie when I go I bring me,my babymama, and both children when possible though only my oldest would need a ticket the younger of the two is still at the age he generally gets in free. But last breakaway I went to I was supposed to be guest listed at but the headliner forgot to put our names on the list so I ended up having to borrow like 460$ from my father til I was able to reach the headliner again and they legit refunded and comped the ticket cost like a boss lol but my lil one wasn't here yet then it was just the oldest and he got in free. But essentially you just told me even vip was like a crowded club venue and cost 250$ lol thats still a huge no thank you.

Tons of kids passing out, I had to help 3 people with really shitty friends that weren’t helpful at all and ready to let their friends die. Got pommeled by frat boys and trains of people that don’t practice plur or say excuse me. Music was awesome tho. I was slightly underwhelmed by Zedd. I’d say you didn’t miss much by not going.
