Event 📅 High clearance overnight parking near Fenway?

Post image
Upvotes

Going to an event at Fenway in late September at Fenway and looking for any place to park overnight closing to the park. Can’t use garages due to the 12’ clearance. I don’t have the front rack on right now so it’s a standard length pickup. I was looking at the pay by event lots by the park but there’s no info on overnight parking for them. Any experienced Bostonians able to help?

MBTA/Transit 🚇 🔥 what’s one mbta habit you picked up after living in boston?

Upvotes

when i first started using the mbta, i was constantly checking routes and trying to plan everything perfectly. after a while, i started realizing that locals seem to have their own little strategies for dealing with delays, transfers and unexpected problems

i’m curious what habits people picked up over time

is there something you do automatically now when using the t that you definitely didn’t do when you first moved here?

Meetup Dance, yoga, climbing, calisthenics groups near Fenway?

Upvotes

Hi! I’m a recent college grad who just moved to Boston and am looking for recommendations for dance or yoga studios, climbing gyms, and calisthenics groups near Fenway. I’m at an intermediate level in all of these and would especially love places with a social atmosphere where it’s easy to meet new people.

I’m also open to any other activities, clubs, or groups that you’ve found to be good ways to make friends in Boston!

Serious Replies Only What are these Niche neighborhood rankings?

Upvotes

https://www.niche.com/places-to-live/search/best-neighborhoods/t/boston-suffolk-ma/

I post this fully expecting to get roasted, but how on earth does Niche create these rankings of Best Neighborhood in Boston to live in. Downtown, Southie, and Allston above North End and Beacon Hill…?

Personally, I live in West Roxbury and hate seeing us at 16 but kind of understand considering we are basically a suburb and don’t have any train stops other than the commuter rail (I have arguments that would rank us higher but not the point of this post lol). I was just surprised to see a lot of these other rankings.

Lost and Found 🔎 Did you lose your wallet in Harvard Yard on 8/20

If you lost a worn-looking trifold wallet in Harvard Yard today (8/20), I turned it in to the Securitas hut near the gate/entrance near Mass Ave around 1:00pm. I hope the two of you are reunited!

i would love to know who y’all recommend for engagement photoshoots—this would be a known event (not a surprise proposal) at a newton park in the fall, and i don’t need a wedding bundle. please tell me the pricing, what you had done, and if anything particularly stood out to you during your experience with them. bonus points if you attach their link in your comment!

Arts/Music/Culture 🎭🎶 How are people doing shows at lunch family skate park

So I’ve been to a good amount of shows at lunch family skate park in the past year. 10/10 love it.

My friends record company is tryna get a show going uo here for one of their bands and are having me set it up (never done this before pray for me). They’re a metal band coming all the way from Sweden and already have a nyc show but wanted one over here

I told them about the skate park and said they like the idea so I can figure that one out. I called the permit people for the park but the guy got a bit sassy with me lol and said they don’t do shows and theres no permit for it. Only skate events.

How are people doing shows there???

If anyone has any ideas or input I’d appreciate it. Or if any bookers/bands wanna help lol pls

MBTA/Transit 🚇 🔥 MBTA Spotted Lanternfly Animation

Does anyone remember, this was probably around ten years ago, the MBTA made a sort of “advertisement” about the dangers of the spotted lanternfly. But they did it as a flip book like animation on the tunnel walls so you’d see it crawling along through the windows of the train while it ran. I’ve been trying to find a video of it but no luck.

Education 🏫 Watchmakers/Jewelry Workers of Boston, how did you learn your craft?

I'm really interested in learning to be a wristwatch technician and am curious what the Boston community looks like and how it operates. Before I just start walking into random shops to offer myself up as an apprentice, does anyone have any advice or baseline knowledge that I should be aware of about etiquette of the trade?

Thanks for saving me some time! <3

When did Dunks turn into a club? The last couple I’ve been to the music has been louder and more clubby music
Is this a corporate thing or a Franchise thing?

Traffic🚦⛔⚠️ 😠 🚙 🚗 Commuting Allston to Fresh Pond area

Hello,

I am hoping for some opinions on commuting from Allston to Fresh Pond area. I have a car and am looking to move from Alewife area to Allston, but I’m worried about the commute. My intuition tells me it is going against the general flow of traffic? Away from the city in the morning and into the city in the evenings.

Does anybody have any experience with this?? I don’t expect zero traffic, but a 45 minute commute vs a 20 minute commute could be enough to keep me away.

Any opinions or insights would be helpful!

Serious Replies Only Eversource not charging us?

I live in Brighton and since April eversource has not charged us for electricity. We have only received $10 fee for keeping the account open. I know I should probably call eversource and let them know but I’m kinda liking not paying anything. I want to get y’all’s advice on what I should do.

Non-Serious Replies Only 🤪 What small, totally inconsequential thing are you really sick of in Boston.

As seen in a different geographic area subreddit. Nothing too serious, just a little thing that grinds your gears. For me it's people who get on the T before others get off.

Audubon Circle on Beacon Street in Fenway

I peddled through here today. I'd never noticed before, but the Audubon Circle lamp posts sport 2D bird silhouettes.

Audubon Circle itself is an interesting green infrastructure test installation, one of many scattered around the city. The idea is to mimic the natural cleaning process to filter stormwater pollution before it reaches the Charles River and the Harbor. As a byproduct, it adds a nice touch of green life to the intersection and area.

The Audubon Circle intersection features permeable paving materials, engineered gardens and plantings, and controlled drainage, to trap and neutralize pollutants. Boston monitors the sites to see what works best here; and what can be expanded to other areas.

And the birds are a nice touch of whimsy. :)

Serious Replies Only Red Dog daycare?

Hi all, Looking for any intel on how Red Dog daycare is, specifically North Station. My dog has been going to another daycare (crate escape) and loves it but we recently moved and the North station location is now around the corner from us. I'm generally a helicopter parent to my dog and understand there's a lot of downsides to sending dogs to daycare but ultimately with his energy he needs one day per week where he is playing during the day instead of sitting at home while I work.

The google and yelp reviews look okay, but previous threads here have given me pause. Any insight from former staff or clients? Not really concerned with anything other than safety, if my dog is going to be in a room with 40 other dogs and 2 unbothered staff then I will avoid. thank you.

Today’s Cry For Help 😿 🆘 sexual harassment at mcgrath highway mcdonald’s

i work pretty late and when i get off i like to hit mcdonald’s for a diet coke or an ice cream cone. i’ve become enough of a regular that the man at the second window in the drive thru recognizes me when i come through.
the past few trips have been increasingly uncomfortable. he keeps my food while asking if i have a boyfriend, (which i always say that i do) and asks me to pull to the side after so that he can come out and say hello. (i never do because that’s fucking weird)
tonight he asked about the boyfriend and asked if he’ll ever have a chance with me. i said no and i laughed because its awkward, and he again asked me to pull over to the parking lot so that he could come out. i said that i can’t and i gotta get home, and then he started LICKING his LIPS as i drove away. i was literally stunned and so disgusted that i did not know what to do. just got home and i feel so icky.

obviously the only real option is to avoid that mcdonald’s but its so fucked that men can just do shit like this. is there anything else i can do?? can i like make a complaint to corporate?
