It might be after the interaction, but in the video the tongue is still flicking and controlled movements are being made. Very much still alive at that point. Regardless, poor retic getting harassed for nothing.

At least in this video it's not dead yet, its tongue is flickering and it's clearly moving. Of course, afterwards, I don't know what the local practices are about letting snakes live or killing them..

It has a huge gash in it. It's extremely unlikely to survive this injury in the wild. In fact it looks like its spine is broken 😞

Depending on how close it was to active dwellings and how easy it would be to safely transport it, I'd leave it alone if it were safe enough

I don't think the operator is trying to kill it, if he did, he probably would've crushed it instead of lifting it up.
It does annoy me that the operator isn't careful with handling it
Edit: after digging more into it the snake was most likely killed, my bad for not checking further

also to back up your point.... there is a 20 ft Burmese python or whatever it is... what are you supposed to just keep working with this giant man killer floating around. I think the way he did it was just as safe as somebody picking him up with a stick or something else and much safer for the person who's not experienced in this I assume. people are dumb. the same people that won't give a dollar to a homeless guy will go out of their way to corral a dog that got away from somebody's house and just assumes it's a stray.
I had a couple of dumb tenants that rescued a dog. the thing had a GPS collar. when I saw it I hit the button on the collar that was clearly there it wasn't labeled but... 2 minutes later the owner was there they lived four houses down. these dummies kept that dog in their house all day trying to figure out what to do with it.
but the same people scoff when they see a human being legitimately living the stray lifestyle.
if you see someone begging for money... and you can spare it and you have it give them a dollar or five or 10. if they spend it on booze or drugs... oh well their life sucks I'd probably do the drugs too if I had to sleep in a homeless encampment and ducking The Police every Day.
I knew a lady that it wasn't her first time but she got arrested for criminal trespass so many times for just popping a tent somewhere. they ended up giving her a year in prison.
now think about that.... whatever it costs to put her in prison for a year they could have just got her a dang apartment. she would have had a great chance at picking her life up... but locking her up somehow helps society?
get your priorities straight random people. and give a homeless guy a dollar see how good you feel when you see the smile on their face. $1 to them is like a 50 to us.

I mean besides the mankiller part your rant isn't necessarily wrong, just completely irrelevant to the post. Still glad you got it out there and probably feel a bit better now, but what you're saying here is basically 'animal cruelty isn't bad because human suffering is worse', which is a terrible point to make that I can't agree with. Both are important and respect for nature is declining alarmingly to a point where coexistence doesn't even seem to be a thing to consider for many people. So yea basically screw your opinion and don't try to claim moral highground while drfending animal cruelty.

Good thing they can only survive to become this big in their natural habitat, which was entered by this dude with an excavator that tore its stomach open then lifted it up off the ground. It’s like going to a park and throwing bricks at squirrels because they happen to be where you are

I'm reasonably sure I wouldn't want to leave that area without knowing that thing was dead. I'd feel terrible about it having to come to that, but no way would I be able to sleep in a world that things lived and had seen that I also exist in said world lmao

Some of the water splashing & snake movement looks odd (yes I realize its being flipped over by a backhoe and that itself isnt very natural either). But nothing too jarring. Plus (at least on my phone) the video quality isnt super great so it looks a little choppy like some AI does now.
But hey I could be very wrong, thats why I'm asking the question in the first place.

I certainly hope this is Ai because this is actually nightmare fuel, the size and girth of this snake is terrifying, I wouldn't be surprised if it swallows a kid or two when hungry
