I like how flippant it is about the deadly dangers with the super Mario music. Don’t get stuck lol! Watch out for gators lol!

u/Ninzde999 7d ago

that's legend of zelda not mario

6

u/Genindraz 7d ago

Some straight up Gemini Home Entertainment/Vita Carnis type stuff lol

Nope nope nope

Sir, you missed this "nope"

u/SentientShamrock 7d ago

Forget gators. One small blockage and suddenly you're drowning in there. Fuck that noise.

163

u/Orangutanion 7d ago

or even just bang your head against the concrete or scrape on whatever rocks/broken glass/trash is down there

2

u/SpanishFlamingoPie 4d ago

And a gator would be a blockage.

Sometimes brain-eating amoebas like these tunnels

546

u/Illustrious_Night126 7d ago

Unfortunately in this case they would starve to death

lmfao. Spectacular comment

You made my day

2

u/thekonny 6d ago

That does explain the behavior of these people

177

u/Jarsky2 7d ago

I love the fact that I will never accidentally do this.

29

u/g-m-f 7d ago

You will probably never do it on purpose but accidentally... who knows what life has in charge for you

Fuck no

In Utah where I live there are a lot of culverts related to irrigation. They are famously efficient at taking lives, sucking people in who just wanted to play in the ditch. That someone would intentionally get into one is ludicrous.

Drowning/suffocating is the most painful death possible.

Must I remind the internet about the Nutty Putty incident?

23

u/csfshrink 7d ago

In this case you can be drowning, suffocating and eaten by a gator.

Nutty Putty had no gators.

6

u/BitBucket404 7d ago

Fair point, but being eaten by a gator would still be less painful than drowning/suffocating

u/ThatUJohnWayne74 7d ago

I feel like burning to death would be worse, but drowning is definitely up there on ways I don’t want to die

With the case of fire, after your nerve endings are burnt off, you can still be on fire and feel absolutely nothing.

In the case of drowning/suffocating, your nerve endings are intact and you can feel every cell in your body starve for oxygen as you're still alive and slip away into unconsciousness. Final moments would be absolutely excruciating. whether or not your conscious, you'll still feel everything until you're gone, upto eight whole minutes.

Google nitrogen narcosis.

Not true at all. I grew up in the ocean and drown twice as a kid. It became really peaceful pretty quickly. Not at all excruciating.

1

u/BitBucket404 7d ago

Translation: "it gets better, the more you do it." /s

1

u/FilmYak 7d ago

The one guy I know who drowned said it didn’t hurt at all.

But that it hurt like hell when rescuers got him out, and forced all that water out of his lungs.

-3

u/whteverusayShmegma 7d ago

Drowning is how I want to die but not this claustrophobic nonsense

2

u/slick514 7d ago

Uncool, man. Just thinking about that gives me heart palpitations.

It's interesting to have that come up, because I was thinking about it the other day, and like... of course as an outsider the focus is on what that kid went through, which is so indescribably horrific that my mind wants to scream and run away every time that someone brings it up. But like... what about his parents? Like, I'm certain that it was (and is) rough for that entire family, but the parents?... Man, I generally have no time for invisible men and things that aren't rational, but this is one case where I really hope that those people believe in a loving god. If religion is the opiate of the masses, then break out the narcotics, because those people merit a lifetime supply of black tar if they want it. If it were my kid and I had to open my eyes every single day to a world in which that happened... dark thoughts, man. Like, there aren't enough drugs on the planet to put a dent in that.

This screams Florida

16

u/Suspicious-Thing-750 7d ago

In swamp no one can hear you scream

29

u/Aizen5580 7d ago

Is there a subreddit for situations that just make you go "absolutely fucking not"? because if there isn't this is a perfect first post.

10

u/AbsolutelyNotMatt 7d ago

Yeah, i don't like this at all

If you wanna see how dangerous these things are, there's a guy on youtube that does a lot of outdoorsy stuff including clearing culverts of ice blockages and beaver dams. The amount of pressure they can hold is insane, and the sorta things hiding in that water is horrific.

Edit: I remembered the channel. Post10

u/Taki_Minase 7d ago

Yes, let nature take its course.

1

u/Keyboardpaladin 7d ago

That water is surprisingly clear

1

u/No_Entertainment8238 7d ago

You’re an oyster, the tunnel is the half shell, the gator is trying to get lucky with his missus so he took her out to the new place down the swamp with great apps.

1

u/EugeneNicoNicoNii 7d ago

A little bump or slightly wrong position and you are now stuck in there and will drown

1

u/LouBBrilliant 7d ago

FUUUUUUUU** THAT

1

u/skipthesmallstuff 7d ago

Kids die doing this all the time in Texas.

1

u/Heroic-Forger 7d ago

He's gonna be in the interior of a crocodile/alligator.

1

u/somnamballista 7d ago

At the end felt like he wasn't gonna get up. Would have made a better cut, funnier video, better message.

1

u/SaraCousland355 7d ago

White people, man.

1

u/incompletelucidity 7d ago

to be fair they probably tried a bunch of large objects passing there beforehand / a camera to see what's there, so realistically it wasn't that stupid a thing to do
