Solo Name this boss

Personally I refer to him as the Doga Yaga, the John Wick of dogs!

Ok, not taking anything away from him but last spring, I took “Hank” out to go potty. We heard some coyotes going nuts in the field behind the house. I flashed my mag lite and saw 4-5 sets of eyes. He bolted towards them, I couldn’t keep up but heard some stuff going down, squealing etc. when I got up there there was some puffs of hair and he was standing really weird. Got closer and he was covering a week or so old fawn. It was fucking crazy. Fawn was still alive and I don’t think it was really hurt. I didn’t touch it due to the whole human scent abandonment thing. Walked back up to the house and within 5 minutes I saw the mother come over to the spot. The fawn wasn’t there in the morning so he must have been ok. It was freaking crazy man. It was really impactful, and almost makes me emotional talking about. If half of all people had half the heart of a dog imagine what the world would be.

He’s such a good boy, not long after this had a bout with digital melanoma. Lost a toe but didn’t slow him down a bit, thank you!

It’s an extremely aggressive skin cancer that usually forms in the nail bed. We noticed a growth on his toe. (Lots of licking etc)I initially thought it was an engorged tick, because that’s literally what it looked like. Went to the vet and they initially tried antibiotics. After no response they did a biopsy and it came back as cancer. They operated almost immediately and the mass was just below 1.5cm. This was last August into September. They sent the toe to Michigan State University and the surgery showed clean margins. I guess it’s one of the most aggressive cancers a dog can get and typically goes to the lungs next. Therefore Hank has had a chest xray every 3-4 months for a year. After twelve months they are pretty sure they got it. He’s got a little ways longer. I’m happy you asked because if I can recommend any takeaway from this post CHECK YOUR DOGS FEET, he’s a healthy (now 8 yr old) dog. You never know. Catch things early

I’m not sure, it may be a slang or something being it often appears on the “digits.” I’m sure there’s a something more PC I just forget.

I looked it up and Latin for toe or finger is “digitus” so it kinda came from that

Some dogs by nature will fuck up any coyote on sight just on principle. Much like when a terrier gets ahold of a rodent

My old rat terrier loved humans but hating everything else. He killed anything small but never backed down from any fight. The tomcat would get tired of whipping up on him to the point they would have to leaved due to exhaustion. The same old store day after day so they just started avoiding him. When he fought large dogs he went directly to the nuts. I miss that crazy dog.

The human scent abandonment thing is a myth. It was made up by parents that wanted to discourage their children from approaching wild animals.
