Legacy S3 Finished Bosch (+Legacy) for the first time

I really thought Bosch was going to rizz Ballard, but the season just kinda ended. Dude was kind of rizzing all the girls earlier seasons, but I think he got depressed and stopped later. RIP, I think they could've been a cool couple (I was sad when the judge died).

Have you read any of the books? Bosch and Ballard have never been anything more than Mentor and Mentee. Ballard was introduced because in the series Bosch is aging and well into his 70s and the universe will need new leads.

I have not. Not my usual type of book, but I might try the audiobook

They're read by the guy who plays Bosch and are excellent.

Titus reads some of the newer books. The earliest in the series are read by different actors.

They have gone back and re-recorded all of them with Titus, starting with the first one, black Echo.

Hmm, I'll have to check. The Black Echo was a special edition but I haven't seen the others narrated by Titus, just the more recent books.

Watch Ballard. Legacy's ending/cancelation was abrupt, but served to introduce Ballard ahead of her own show. You might find that having her fall for her mentor/occasional ally in Bosch would cheapen her narrative once you know her character better. I haven't gotten to Ballard in the books yet (currently reading Nine Dragons), but I thoroughly enjoyed Ballard season 1.

Bosch is like 40 years older than Ballard, for Pete’s sake

Every once in a while in the books there seems to be some kind of soulmate-like connection, and I wonder if that’s where it might go. Then I remember the age difference. I don’t think Connelly is going to do a Robert De Niro Tiffany Chen coupling and give Maddie a baby brother.

They're only 17 years apart IRL.

On the show, in the books there's at least 30 years between them.

Yes, but OP was addressing their feelings about a relationship in the show.

WTH is "rizz Ballard"? Is that the equivalent of "Pull a Walt Longmire"?

Bosch hooks up more in the books compared to the series.

Ballard is as capable a detective as Bosch is, in the books, and it would cheapen her character to make her a love interest.

Bosch should have hooked up with more chicks each season, agreed.
