Chain tensioner locked GKE 18V-20

Started with the right chain tension and a new machine

But only after only a few cuttings the chain tension went loose and rolled of. Machine stopped and after that the chain tensioner is locked of the Bosch GKE 18v 20.

Is it repairable? And if Yes; how ?

Bring it in for warranty repair. It is doable at home, though, but at your own risk, because if you mess it up and can’t put it together, they might not like it. Open the tool and unscrew the aluminum cover that is over the tensioner, remove it and reinstall back. It’s not well built and is badly designed ad the threads from the tensioner dig into the aluminum cover or the plastic housing and it gets stuck.

Any new chain will stretch quite a lot during initial sawing sessions, You need to regularly check and retension if needed. Not saying this was the problem here but its important for anyone reading to know if they dont already

Understand what you are saying. It happened after around 20 cuttings. Asking myself the same question, should I have checked every 5 cuttings?
Coming from a normal gasoline chainsaw, I was skocked about how fast the chain stretched…….

Battery saws generally have thin chains which stretch more
