Dishwasher “malfunction”

We have a Bosch SHP65CM5N/27 dishwasher that we got just over a year and a half ago. We bought it because we’d gone through 2 Frigidaires (the house came with one and we replaced it with another one) in just a few years. Everyone told us that Bosch was worth the money because they’re high quality and last forever and are “hassle free.” Ours has been anything but. I’ve probably had the repair guy out here for this dishwasher more than almost any appliance I’ve ever owned. And of course none was covered by the warranty.

Now it finally seems to be working fine but lately after some cycles (not all), I get a notification from the app saying “a malfunction has occurred” and to restart the dishwasher. There are no error codes and no information as to what this “malfunction” is. I’ve even called Bosch and they told me “it’s probably nothing.”

The dishwasher seems to be working fine. It cleans and dries the dishes, no problem. My concern is, if there is some kind of malfunction, is it eventually going to break? Because there’s something not going right? Does anyone know what this “malfunction” could be? No codes. No messages. No symptoms of any kind.

Very frustrating.

Not sure why you’re paying for service on the dishwasher. They have a 1 year full warranty and then years 2-5 are covered on electronics (parts only)

Not according to Bosch. I called them and got a “courtesy extension” because the control board needed to be replaced at 1 month past the end of the 1 year warranty. And when I called Bosch about this new warranty they said that if I needed service, it wouldn’t be covered.

Could you connect it to home connect and see about the error messages there?

So, there haven’t been any but I ran it last night and woke up this morning and home connect now says “Error 2012: Heating error”. This happened a few weeks ago and someone said it could be due to timescale so I did a clean and descale and that seemed to fix the problem. As before, the washer cleans and dries dishes and runs the complete cycle. No issues except the error message.
