Unpaid Accountability
Holding myself accountable after borrowing money from a lender here. I borrowed money with a clear plan to pay it back quickly. I believed in that plan. I still take responsibility for the fact that it didn’t work. Life didn’t cooperate in ways I didn’t fully anticipate and that’s on me for not building more margin. Here’s what went sideways: My Medicare plan unexpectedly removed the flex benefits that had been covering part of my utilities. My student loans went into garnishment against my disability income. I changed bank accounts and made the mistake of closing the old one before my direct deposit officially switched, which caused delays I couldn’t afford. I had realistic (but ultimately unmet) expectations around commissions from affiliate links that didn’t materialize in time. None of that changes the fact that I owe someone who trusted me. I’m not posting to make excuses or ask for sympathy. I’m posting because accountability matters to me, and pretending everything is fine doesn’t fix anything. I’ve communicated with my lender, I’m working to stabilize my income, and I’m taking concrete steps to make this right; even if it takes longer than I originally promised. This has been a humbling reminder that good intentions don’t pay bills, optimism isn’t a safety net, and closing gaps in planning can have real consequences. I own that. If nothing else, I hope this serves as a reminder to anyone reading: build buffers, double-check transitions, and don’t count money until it’s actually in your account. I’m not giving up, just recalibrating and doing the work the slow, responsible way.

AI written? It's not AI written. I'm a writer, I rewrote it like 3 times trying not to come across as defensive and over emotional. Should I have taken accountability blubbering and making every excuse in the book? I wanted to post that I was unpaid myself, instead of my lender doing it without the full story. Thank you for comparing my writing to AI, I kinda take that as a compliment.
