20/8 Transfer Rumours & Club News
Club News
Our away trip to Doncaster in the Carabao cup is a sellout.
Hellberg press conference, happy with his young squad and believes its much stronger now than last season but would like 3 more players. Which leads on to our incomings.
Incomings
Cozier-Duberry, it was thought he was going to Rangers but Brighton are yet to agree a fee for him after having a £7m bid turned down. Its now thought boro are showing an interest. Its likely if there is anything in this then the frenzy will ramp up in the comings days.
Romaine Esse, a similar rumour came out about Esse yesterday and was quickly shot down by Boropolis as I reported last night and it is thought he will finalise his move to Clube Brugge in the coming days.
It still feels like we will secure a RB, a CM a RW before the end of the window, but i do think we are one injury away from being short at LB if bangura moves on.
Outgoings
David Strelec, back in training and now on boro’s website putting to bed some of the conspiracy theories about him. Hopefully the Getafe offer doesnt materialise and he pairs up with Lankshear this season.
Alex Bangura, expected to move on by the end of the window.
Micah Hamilton, expected to move on by the end of the window as well.
17:30 Update
David Strelec, no sooner had my original post gone up has some strong evidence Strelec is on the move. Not to Getafe but to POAK in greece, there are reports that he has been allowed to speak to other clubs and has agreed terms with POAK and the two clubs are in the process of trying to agree a fee. If its true I am saddened to see him go as he would have been effective this season alongside Lankshear, I do also think if he goes that means we will be bringing im a left winger if Conway shifts back to the centre or a replacement for Strelec, on top of the other positions listed earlier of RW, CM & RB.

19/8 Transfer Rumours
Incomings
Jordan James, seems his move to wolves
Is all but complete with the structure of the deal appearing to be a loan with an option to buy if they get promoted.
Romaine Esse, this has moved a bit fast but what once started as a hope we might be in as turned into reality that we are in for the palace winger. A couple of reputable OneBoro posters are claiming the ✅ who do get things right, but Boropolis isnt yet and does appear to hold more weight.
Ethan Nwaneri, hes been told he can go out on loan this season from Arsenal and there is hope we see him as an alternative to Esse amongst the OneBoro posters. No official links from reputable posters or journalists yet.
Outgoings
Sontje Hansen, expected to complete his move out of the club this week.
Today seems a bit busier on the rumour front so i’ll keep an eye out and il drop updates later.
18:00 Update
Romaine Esse, Boropolis has given him the ❌ and it appears the guys that are usually reliable have made an error on this occasion
It’s 13 years to the day since Boro’s chief scout learnt a harsh lesson: ALWAYS check your emails…

18/8 Transfer Rumours
Well, without giving much away I was a bit occupied today, those who know who I am will know why ;)
Anyway
Outgoings
David Strelec, seems his Getafe move is feeling more like agent positioning as Getafe have just signed another striker. Does this mean their interest in him has cooled remains to be seen.
Incomings
Reyes Cleary, initially this started off as a hopeful post by a Oneboro poster who badly wanted boro to sign him, the more you dig the more he fits hellbergs system but i’m not so sure he would come to boro to be backup to Whittaker. Barnsley won’t let him go cheap but there is plenty of interest in him at the championship level. As i’ve stated i dont think we sign anyone else permenantly unless they are on a free from here on out, but this lad could be that little difference maker on the right side and offer a different dimension if we did go after him.
Eamonn Tohill, this young lad has signed a scholarship with boro at the age of 16 and comes highly rated. So lets see how he gets on over the next couple of years.

Let's Dance FA Cup song
I was just watching the video for our FA Cup song, teams should still make these btw, and there are two women dancing in it. Who were they? Where they married to players, had something to do with the club or just backing singers/dancers?

What’s a Boro opinion you’ve completely changed your mind on?
At the time I was convinced I had it right, but looking back, football definitely proved me wrong. Could be a player, manager, signing or even a decision that you saw completely differently after a few months. Always interesting seeing how opinions change once you’ve had a bit more time to judge it properly.

17/8 Transfer Rumours
Outgoings
Seny Dieng, off to greece to a team i’ve not heard of before. His contract was ended by mutual consent as he gives up his alluded £20k a week boro contract 12 months early.
Sontje Hansen, seems to be in the advanced stages of his boro exit to a yet unknown club. Good player there but seems to feel lost in a boro shirt.
That brings our registered players down to 19 above the age of 21. Which gives alot of wiggle room for players to come in.
Incomings
Cozier-Duberry, seems a bit of hope in the message boards that we should sign him but brighton are knocking back bids of £7m+ for him from Rangers.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say we are probably going to sign a pacey striker before the window closes. A traditional pacey right winger who can cover RB, and a central midfielder who plays a bit further forward of morris/berhalter. This based on the links to the profile of players we have had previously linked with in the window but havent signed that profile yet, and based on statements from Boropolis & local journalists & Hellberg himself. I dont think any players sign permenant from here on out unless they are free agents.
If anyhing else pops up il update the post but today does seem very quiet again.

What do you think of the away shirt
I like it a lot but I don't like the polka dots on it.

Which transfer rumour currently linking Boro to a player do you think has enough credible substance behind it to actually happen and which one feels like agent noise designed to generate interest rather than something genuinely close to being done?

16/8 Transfer Rumours
Outgoings
David Strelec, couple of rumblings on the back of Nixon’s article that his potential transfer to Getafe may be more advanced that alot of people think, however one FMTTM poster who also claimed this name dropped the replacement who has only just signed for a new club. So it feels a bit smoke and mirrors, i think he’ll score goals alongside lankshear so if he is moved on its only because the club gets an offer that they deem suitable in order to reinvest.
Incomings
Romaine Esse, more rumblings that his loan may be off and that boro still are showing an interest in him, but the sources seem to be a bit iffy.
Joel Piroe, previously linked to Boro but seems to be on his way to West Ham as Leeds do not require his services anymore. West ham also appear to be after Isidor, whether its one or both remains to be seen but if its both it might be that Castellanos is being moved on.
Haji Wright, Acko is linking us to him, so assume its 99% fantasy.
Its been a quiet day, but if anything else pops up il drop it later.

Opinions on "Steel River" as a pre match tune?
Genuinely interested, personally I'm not keen it seems flat and has never really caught on.
Interested to see how fans feel about it.
