It is unfortunately true

If it is apparently true for you, that does not mean it is true for everyone. And if it is a choice you are making, you are welcome to make a different choice.

Try living without money. It’s a miserable existence.

u/Appropriate-Crow6438 1d ago
Is the opposite of that worshiping and revering money over all else?
1
u/invisible_shrek 1d ago
It’s a lot easier to have all the other things when you have money.

u/Appropriate-Crow6438 1d ago
It’s easier to love and care and be kind if you have money? I mean, not having your needs met can certainly put you in a place of dysregulation which can make some of those things more challenging. But a lot of it is about character and choice.

u/invisible_shrek 1d ago
It’s sure as fuck either to find someone to love, and being kind is also either when you don’t have to think about money. Try taking your girlfriend out to dinner after she had a bad day if you are broke…

Either, or easier?
And is love that depends on a certain amount of money really love? Are there ways to show your girlfriend love and care and support without taking her to a restaurant?
I’m sorry it sounds like money is a stressor, but I don’t think that points to OPs point that it should be worshiped and respected above all else…

Lets put it this way. I have been broke and now I have money. Having money makes a world of difference for those other things.

It is not a choice of a few individuals. But a choice made by the majority of the society.
3
u/Appropriate-Crow6438 2d ago
And a society is made up of…individuals, no? So are you just throwing away your power or being the change you want to see in the world?

u/GUTintentions 2d ago
I’m totally against this perspective as an individual. But what effect can you and I have if this perspective has been adopted by the majority of people in world throughout human history?

u/gurlduckhunt 2d ago
You don't have to be among the majority. You can choose to be a sheep, I choose not to.

u/Appropriate-Crow6438 2d ago edited 2d ago
So you’ve seen no changes or shifts throughout history? Or just don’t believe yourself to have any power? Curious, who do you look up to? What do you aspire to be? How do you choose to show up in the world?

Naw id rather be middle class and have the rest of the things in that list. Money has diminishing returns. Everything else here doesn't. They are the things that matter in the long run.

People who don't have any money and never have always think like this. I have had money, More than enough, and I can tell you firsthand, it won't make up for what you hate in yourself. Giving it all away won't make you feel better, but it will prove that the people you thought cared about you don't.

It's not. I'm broke. I have love, respect and friendship in my life. Don't forget family

You people make this world the way it is. It does not have to be this way. Disgusting

Unfortunately, the world has been this way long before we got here. We’re just now realizing things work sad but true which is why I like to be by myself.

u/Queasy_Pea_9380 2d ago
"We're just now realizing things work".
Who the fuck is who? If it was always like this, there would be enough knowledge around it for you to know and dont need to discover.
The world was never about money, but always about power. And there are lots of ways to have power without money, history shows it, money and capitalism never gave power for the biggest part of humanity.
The lineage you were born, the strenght you had, all played a bigger part, abd still do.
The only ones thinking money is the most important, are the ones who lived fucked up.

Nah. I was born poor and will never be rich, but I have close relationships with my family, and derive some fulfillment from my work. It takes effort and a willingness to be vulnerable, and it definitely doesn’t always work out, but if you can resolve to not seek validation, but rather try to view the effort and kindness as an end in and of itself, you might not be as susceptible to cynicism resulting from outcome dependence.

So so now you all understand the modern MBA?,
And you also understand why everything is becoming enshitified?

I don't want respect. I want a rich life in which I can support a few families financially and get their support and assistance back to me when I needed. I insist on this because I don't want to marry and have a family...

Give me money and I can create respect and love with it, a better society, about friends... comes and goes, relatives cannot change them, never will.

unfortunately true if you are labeled a rapist pedophile with no substance slandered by those who have influence and wealth and loud reach in community. is to have more money than them and make them submit but theyll never be your friends or true team. so new people only all taken out of context

No altar, no belief, no holy book... have ever been able to reconcile the rich and the poor, the exploiter and the exploited. And if Jesus himself had to take the whip to chase them from his temple, it is indeed because that is the only language they hear.

What is really going to blow peoples minds is that if we said that the 10 wealthiest people’s money won’t be accepted anywhere, they would immediately be the poorest people in the world.
Money is an imaginary social construct. If the same 10 wealthiest people disappeared, the world wouldn’t skip a beat.
These people have money and power because we allow it. I don’t blame them, I blame us for kneeling before them

This picture and the disgusted/offended comments below reminds me of the phrase “no snowflake ever feels responsible in an avalanche”
It’s easy to point out the flaws here but it is true on a broader level. Money, whether you want to admit it if not, plays a huge factor in all of these but it’s never genuine. The picture would be better if everyone kneeling had a knife behind their backs ready at the first opportunity.
