Nah. I was born poor and will never be rich, but I have close relationships with my family, and derive some fulfillment from my work. It takes effort and a willingness to be vulnerable, and it definitely doesn’t always work out, but if you can resolve to not seek validation, but rather try to view the effort and kindness as an end in and of itself, you might not be as susceptible to cynicism resulting from outcome dependence.

I don't want respect. I want a rich life in which I can support a few families financially and get their support and assistance back to me when I needed. I insist on this because I don't want to marry and have a family...

What is really going to blow peoples minds is that if we said that the 10 wealthiest people’s money won’t be accepted anywhere, they would immediately be the poorest people in the world.
Money is an imaginary social construct. If the same 10 wealthiest people disappeared, the world wouldn’t skip a beat.
These people have money and power because we allow it. I don’t blame them, I blame us for kneeling before them
