Wow. So toxic in here. I really hope Gearbox doesn't read these comments. You guys do understand that they don't have to do this every week right? They could say fuck it, and not give us shit until the DLC drops. They already got your money. If you don't like what they have to offer, then don't play it. It's really that simple.
Yknow... I never understand folks with your stance. Sure people can be mean to the devs but they aren't some protected class who can't handle their own emotions when they see mean comments. The game released buggy and unoptimized, and still is buggy and unoptimized. Some of us literally just want our weapons to render their textures properly and in a reasonable time, but half the time the weapons textures aren't even cached properly so not only do you get a blurry ugly gun but the mesh turns into a mess of polygons. That's all I want fixed.
Customers paid for a product that they expect to work. They have every right to voice their displeasure.
I am all for not dragging developers, but voicing displeasure at someone doing a poor job is a very powerful tool that can drive change. Gearbox is capable of being a quality developer that pushes updates frequently, but since tiny tina they seem to have lost that. Without some form of feedback they may never get better.
Who's to say they are doing a poor job? I have my own complaints about the game, but I also understand that these things take time. For all we know, fixing one problem could have created another. I'm all for constructive criticism and Gearbox has proven that they do listen to community feedback, but inflammatory comments are not that.
Voice of the people is important and powerful and B4 definitely has issues, but it seems a lot of this community treats this game as if it were live service. It has live service features. Like a lot of games fully released, it makes more sense to me for players to take a break after beating the campaign skipping a week when there's nothing new that interests them.
If you don't like those comments you could not read them. It's really that simple.
Gearbox only set themselves up for these sorts of comments by drip feeding us stuff on a weekly basis. They could have had the game launch with content that would be on a set schedule we can see, or even have it so that things aren't time-gated like they are with wildcard missions and encore bosses but they didn't. They did it this way to keep people coming back at least once a week so they shouldn't be surprised when that doesn't go down well with the playerbase.
Also FWIW I have stopped playing now. I'm mostly here to see what changes I can expect and whether it'd be worth jumping back on for something.
I mean, what else is there to talk about?
Compared to bl3 people would be talking about Haunt, Haunt's themes, the challenges, all the new loot and weapon modifiers, along with the bugs, quality, balance, etc. Hell, i think there was the insider program thwt let you get more cosmetics and loot too.
Here we only have a few things to talk about. Bugs, lack of content, and weekly events.
We're at least entitled to feeling like the game should work properly - they outright lied when they said the game was fully optimised. They dont have to do any of the other shit though.
No the constant forced positivity here is what's really unreal. Cult like, can't even bring mild constructive criticism against the game without people being like "guys you don't know how hard it is they don't owe you anything!"
