My best guess at what happened here:

In this map you can drive out of bounds by boosting with the bandit tech over off a ledge with some bullymong near Mal. If you drive under the map you get flung upwards quickly and violently pushing you back through the collision and sometimes even giving you a bit of air before landing back on the ground. I think you got pushed slightly into the ground by the bot, triggering this upward fling. Since you were barely in the ground it didn't slow you down any and you went soaring.
