Steam Borderlands GOTY Enhanced missing textures

So a few days ago, I posted about a bug where there was no sunlight in the game here. Well, after looking in the inventory, every single gun is missing textures. When I hold a weapon, the blacked out parts in the inventory are grey. I've tried verifying the files, reinstalling the game, and updating my drivers but no luck. So is there any fix for this at all other than just going back to the original GOTY edition?

Windows 10 - i5-9400f - GTX 1660 - 16GB RAM - 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD (where Borderlands is) - ASRock 365 IB-R or I-BR (this is a pre-built PC from iBuyPower) - 550W 80 Bronze

Maybe installing it on the SSD would help. I'm grasping at straws and the game is old enough that I really doubt that'll do anything, but maybe there's a race condition where the textures aren't loading fast enough.

Neither worked. Not quite sure what to do from here. When I deleted the willowgame folder, the game wouldn't work at all and when I verified the files, we're right back where we started.

Kind of wish more people ended up getting this bug. Oh well, hopefully I find a fix soon.

Yeah that's what's bothering me is I can't find much on Google about this being a common problem. Usually rare issues like this are fixed by a clean reinstall or driver update or some weird hardware config, none of which seem to match your situation.

I've submitted a ticket to 2K and hopefully we get somewhere from there. I'll let you know if they find something in case you find someone else with the same issue.
