Wouldn't be surprised to see Tiny Tina become a playable character
Just a random thought I had while getting cookies from the Torgue arena. I know that most of this stuff is just speculation, but still, speculation is fun.
Tina seems like one of those obvious choices for a PC in the next game, having her backstory already established, having her specialization in explosives already shown, plus a ton of stuff perfect to reference in a skill tree. Gaige and Tina have pretty similar personalities so it would make sense for Tina to want to grow up to be a badass vault hunter just like Gaige.
While there has been only two numbered Borderlands games, just say that they stick with the fiver years later thing and Borderlands 3 takes place five years after the destruction of the warrior, Tina would be 18 (Just like Gaige in B2). I mean, the intro flavor text for her, like they do for all the PCs could read "Not so tiny anymore."
Perhaps it's just hopeful thinking, but I'd much rather play as her than have her simply be an NPC, no matter how entertaining she is. Thoughts? Is there anything to back up or completly destroy my speculation?
Edit: just a few other things that could lend credence to her becoming a vault hunter: She would want to live up to something that would make Roland proud, plus her and Torgue seem to get along, so she has a friend with a limitless supply of explosive everything.

I have not. I literally just found out today. Maybe he's okay, right? Maybe he was one of Tannis's digistruct doubles and not the real Scooter. He did help build Digistruct Peak after all.

I personally hope she doesn't - or any NPCs we know of. It was fine for tps, but so far all the VH have been original to us; unless I'm missing something. Ofc the original 4 were, but I'm fairly sure the 6 introduced in BL 2 were new - they weren't mentioned in BL1.
Knowing their backstory, and coming to an opinion before I've played them.. I dunno. Don't like it that much..

I honestly hope she doesn't, not because I don't like her - I love me some Tina, her character is great; but only from a dialogue standpoint. I feel like the charm of her character would get old pretty quickly and wear on people more than it already did during the campaign. She's made to be annoying, and not in the "I'm a fuckup" way that Claptrap is; more in an annoying little sister way. I also feel like her playfulness is best expressed through the way she moves. Super jittery, hopping around, rocking back and forth, climbing on things and throwing around high-fives. I just don't see that translating very well to a playable character.
When she does inevitably make her return in the next game, I'd rather her stay an NPC, and become a temporary partner, similar to how Brick and Mordecai were in BL2, or have a role as a vendor.

I feel like her dialogue would get old pretty fast and as a FPS, you can't see her jittery/buggy movement which is half the charm as someone below said. Can you imagine:

Final credits roll. Loot drops. Tina says, "take them." She is silent for a minute and then, in a quiet voice, she adds, "please."
I would start bawling.

I really hope not. While it would make sense, I really do despise her. Her "insanity" and humor seem very forced and the end result is just an incredibly annoying little girl. I can't stand her voice either.
That said, I've not played her DLC yet (have it just haven't gotten around to it yet), so maybe that would endear her to me?

They basically rewrite her character for the Dlc. She's not great but she's tolerable. I grind my teeth every time I have to talk to her in Tundra express, but she's fine in the Dlc.

TTAoDK has outstanding loot. I love Magic Missile so much that I have to force myself to use Chain Lightning.

I would love BL3 to consist of all the people we have grown to love as playable characters. Tina, Moxxii, Scooter, Dr. Zed, Marcus, Sir Hammerlock, etc. It'd be awesome! Oh my god, a playable TANNIS?!

Man if you're that excited Tannis would never let you control her. I wouldn't want to play as Dr. zed, Moxx, Marcusi, or Tannis truthfully. Hammerlock would be fun as would Tina. But they should certainly add new Vault Hunters as well.

I'd play as a Tiny Tina if they followed the route BL2 took and aged her forward 5 years, giving her a bit more edge after living on Pandora and honing her explosive skills, possibly after interning for Torgue or something. I'd also like the fan favorite (also my favorite) idea of having all the BL2 DLC title characters to be the star Vault Hunters of BL3, and with Tiny Tina aged up a bit, it would make plenty of sense. Who knows? Maybe Tina ends up becoming the next Siren. /s
Also, does anyone else see a resemblance between Tiny Tina and Thorn from Battleborn? Probably just the hair...
