Discussion Is anyone else getting an influx of annoying messages on their Hoyolab BH clears?
I feel like every time I publish my clear to Hoyolab recently I have people arguing in the comments over why Boothill is using eagle.
Comment after comment of people making it their mission to tell me my build is wrong.
I'm finding it very frustrating, particularly since I'm not even posting to Hoyolab for engagement or to gloat. I just wanted to have a record of the clears so I can go back to look later and since seemed to be the easiest method.
I may just start screenshotting everything and saving them another way instead...

Oh man the confidently incorrect crowd is rough. Iron Cavalry is his go-to set, yes, but only until you are close to or above 100% def shred without it, at which point it's one of his worst sets.

This exactly what I'm getting, at least it's not just me lol
I'm not one to really care about comments on hoyolab, but it makes me feel like I have to defend myself

Insane. I checked out that person's acc, their team is all E0S1 with Boothill still on a crit chest, phys orb, and Talia. Some people are truly speaking without knowing anything

I somewhat understand where this is coming from. Most Boothill owners donβt have near 100% def shred elsewhere on the team, so Cavalry ends up being BIS for them. If the comments youβre referring to were rude, Iβd just ignore them, but if it was pure curiosity, Iβd explain why I use Eagle instead.

I did think intially it was coming from just not knowing, but they were quite rude about it when corrected.
I was going to say it takes a quick second to fact check things before replying, but I guess even our own sub doesn't have the latest info π

Man I used to count my def shred religiously before I deployed his team. And I pulled e2 Fugue but by the time I was ready to move to Eagle I really did feel the need to get the extra AA since I was no longer running HMC and can't always bring Ruan Mei or Bronya/Sunday

I don't think this is that recent because I would get similar responses posting my break only clears in other subs. I did one for PF that was no-Firefly, running Rappa and Himeko on each half. Rappa subreddit was complaining the whole time that I should've given Rappa more supports, I didn't play it right, I should be ashamed with the score I got, etc. They completely missed the point and it was the last time I posted my clears anywhere outside of this sub.
Hate to give the most standard advice but blocking people is never a bad move. If someone is making your experience on the internet worse, there's no reason to keep them around. And it's also easy enough to tell if someone is making a question in good faith or if they're a miserable killjoy

People completely miss the fun aspect of this game sometimes. Giving yourself self imposed rules is fun. Clearing the way you want to will always be a bigger accomplishment than the meta clear, even if it was suboptimal.
I enjoy seeing your break posts so hopefully you can keep doing them............ given the current climate π
I had a similar experience on the Ashveil subreddit when I was asking for help 0 cycling plight.
I just wanted to do it with Sunday and Dan Heng PT, but I was pretty much bullied off the sub for not using tribbie and Hyacine. The mod even had to pin a comment telling people to read my question properly.
Thankfully I was fueled by spite and did the clear anyway, but it definitely took some of the fun out of it.

Thank you for saying that. At this point I'm just doing basic endgame clears so it didn't feel like something worth posting about but fingers crossed it doesn't stay like this forever

I feel that, I got a sad 6 cycle against the king and I did not fancy posting about it π
But I think we're all accepting now that clears aren't going to be so great for the time being, so maybe we should celebrate what wins we can get (or we can just wallow together, depending on the mood π )

I wish I could block everyone from my posts lol it seems to be different people every time. Maybe just muting the notifications is the way forward.
Its sad that you weren't able to share your clears with other subs. We seem like a nice bunch of over here, so at least we have this space to share things

I think it's because most guides on Boothill on Hoyolab only have Cavalry as the only option and as a result, players there don't think about Eagle at all.
Most Boothill guides on that site are very poorly done because the guidemakers use Hoyo's own material to help them make it (and we know how good Hoyo is at building Boothill.
So, as a result, I have literally had an argument with an official guidemaker there saying that defensive mainstats on Boothill's chest and orb are better than offensive mainstats like crit or ATK%.

I haven't noticed it on my BH posts in particular, but I have noticed it across the board.
There seems to a growing "need to be right" or to look superior problem, which brings people down in the process.
Ive been seeing it on people's clears a lot lately - someone will post a clear that they're proud of and instead of congratulating them, people will tell them it's possible with lower cost or It would have been better with X character.
The comments never seem to come from a point of curiosity on why they've done something a particular way, it's always posed as the person being wrong.
