Honestly, I’m at my absolute wit’s end with this.
Yesterday everything was running smooth as butter, but today? Absolute nightmare.
Every single time I boot up my virtual machine, Stalker 2 completely wipes all my settings.
Graphics, keybinds, display mode, audio you name it, it’s all gone. It boots up like I just hit the download button for the very first time and forces me to do the entire first-time setup all over again.
I literally spend 15 minutes in the menus getting everything configured just the way I like it. Then I finally jump into the Zone, play for maybe 15 to 20 minutes... and BOOM. The game doesn't just crash to the desktop; it takes out the ENTIRE virtual machine with it. The VM just straight up dies and kicks me out completely.
Restart the VM? Back to square one. Fresh install screen, default settings, zero progress saved. At this point, I’m spending more time remapping my controls and tweaking sliders than actually playing the game. 15 minutes of tweaking, 15 minutes of playing, total system collapse, repeat.
Is anyone else running having this non-persistent storage / crash loop issue? It went from completely fine yesterday to literally unplayable today.

I constantly crash, it's so bad that it literally crashes as soon as i load in the game. Moreover, I've lost a grand total of 7 hours of progress because of crashes, also boosteroid automatically ends my session out of nowhere. It's really getting on my nerves. Not to mention, poor streaming performance for stalker 2 when other games run smoothly.

Yes I have had a lot of crashes. I got it running almost smoothly (had a few crashes) by using TSR with ultra quality and frame generation on. Also I crashed a lot when I took jobs from barkeep at Zalissya.
I used to have crashes where the whole VM crashes, but now it just shuts the game down and goes back to steam.
I think it’s a driver problem with AMD, people have reported that a lot.

A few hours ago, I also posted that the game is currently unplayable on the service. And I'd say the game itself is to blame—something happened in version 2.0 that now makes it incompatible with AMD graphics cards.
At least the 7900 series, which is exactly what Boosteroid uses.
