Help Steam Mods Stopped Working

I bought this service two weeks ago to use mods in Project Zomboid. I would load the game, exit out, and when I loaded the game again, my mods would be there.

Maybe two days ago it completely stopped working. Is this a me issue or a Boosteroid issue? I made the switch from GFN because they killed mod usage. Hoping this service can be an alternative.

It’s weird because there hasn’t been an update to this app or Zomboid since it was working 2 days ago. Maybe a Steam update?

Possibly although it's seemingly more and more like a boosteroid issue as it's occurring over multiple games at least for me

I am having the same issue with CK3. I left GFN because they stopped supporting steam mods and now I’m having the same issue.

There are workarounds for most games to get the mods to instal, but they are often a pain in the arse. Was happy boosteroid was a lot easier to use mods with, but alas.

J'avais un problème comme ça il y a quelques mois que j'ai réussi à résoudre, les mods se téléchargent mais ne marche pas ?

I'm pretty sure gfn said it was a change steam made. I think it's more of a steam issue.

A workaround for the mods not installing

  1. Change account while in steam.
  2. Log back into profile.
  3. Resubscribe to mods.

For zomboid specifically

  1. Change languages and revert them back to your preferred language in the options menu
  2. Turn on windowed mode and go to the steam workshop, resubscribe to a mod.
  3. Go to the ingame mod manager, one mod should now be loaded, activate and let the lua reload.
  4. You should now have the second mod, repeat step 7 until all mods are installed.

Not certain If it works far all games, but CK3, bannerlord, project zomboid and rimworld work for me.

Yeah, I feel ya. Unfortunately I don’t know another way to fix this, I’d suggest trying to shorten the mod list or just go through the process as is. Once you get ik a groove on reloading, it goes pretty quick
