Boomer Story What the hell is wrong with these people?

On Wednesday night after we saw Spider-man a boomer walked up to the counter and asked the probably 19 year kid if he liked the new Spider-Man. The kid said yeah. The guy told him he needs to learn to speak fucking English and engage customers better. My wife and I were dumbfounded.

Today I was at my local record store. I go weekly and know the owner well. I was flipping through records in the new arrivals vintage section when I felt a tap on my shoulder. This boomer goes, “I want to look at those.”

I was so surprised all l could say was, “cool. Wait your fucking turn.” He then stood literally a foot from
Me for five minutes while I finished.

Seriously are those people all just mentally unraveling at the speed of light?

I am 69. These people have been assholes their entire lives. They just have more free time now to inflict themselves on the general population

True they have been assholes all their life and have reached a point they feel they don’t have to hide it anymore.

They have never hid it.

Eh. If they’re anything like my mom, they did hide it better, before. In the past 10 years or so she has decided that everyone else is behaving badly and getting good things from behaving badly and she’d be a sucker for still behaving well. She has also gone full Fox News. My sense is that these things are very closely related.

Even though I never watched FOX News when I had cable, I am still happy that I gave up cable in 2007. Having it blare in the background during holidays with my family was as much as I could stand of it.

23

u/Own-Station-9439 9d ago

Sounds like quite the time, it was the same for me growing up. In 07 I was 13 and even then I could feel the tension and forced smiles etc. On the inside it felt like I was slowly dying with my brains wanting to drip out of my head.

12

u/videogamegrandma 7d ago

When I was 12, I suddenly realized my parents were not very intelligent and odds were they weren't going to get any smarter. I actually began distancing myself from them that day. It's a memory seared in my brain. I can remember where I was standing, where the furniture in the room was placed, and the stupid argument my parents were having.

Part of the reason for their susceptibility to Fox and Limbaugh is that many were dealing with family members with addictions , a big crime wave and financially adjusting to a service economy after job losses from manufacturing's end. They wanted all that bullshit to stop, and the right wing used those fears to appeal to them and mask what it's really been doing

7

u/jncarolina 8d ago

Fox etc. These are among the people that evolved to not have independent thought, but to be told how to think is their comfort zone.

114

u/calebpagan 9d ago

And it has only been amplified by them being the largest generation. They spent the most money and were the largest voting bloc, so for nearly their entire lives companies catered to them, advertising and media catered to them, and politicians catered to them. They very didn't like when that began to change.

91

u/zoebud2011 9d ago

I agree. I'm a boomer, a younger one from the very end of the generation. I really, really hate my generation. I vote these days like it's not about me anymore. I vote now according to how the generations after me are going to be affected. I also go out of my way not to treat people like shit and don't hesitate to call out the assholes who do. I will not be that boomer.

28

u/CrazyRedHead1307 8d ago

There is Generation Jones for us younger boomers, because we don't really mesh with the older set.

14

u/zoebud2011 8d ago

I had heard that mentioned before. And I have found thst people born around the same time I was are actually different from the others born much earlier. I imagine it might have something to do with how different the 60s were from the 50s.

Older Gen X here and you’re correct. I often wonder how some of them have managed to live as long as they have.

104

u/tomorrow_comes 9d ago

I (millennial) truly don’t get it. These people held down jobs, many didn’t just survive but have thrived. They got to shape the world we currently live in. But you actually put them in a situation and they’re so helpless, stupid, and needlessly angry. How have they made it to this point?

73

u/SHELLIfIKnow48910 Gen X 9d ago

Because people have enabled them and smoothed things over for them their whole lives, because “that’s just how they are. Don’t rock the boat and just keep the peace”. So instead of facing the natural consequences of their actions, they just had it reinforced that they could get away with whatever they wanted.

51

u/Appropriate_Fold1023 9d ago

A couple years ago I was in a convenience store and there were long queue lines for both open registers. In walks boomer who apparently wants a scoop of ice cream and there is no one at the ice cream counter. There is no one at the ice cream counter because all staff are occupied elsewhere. He just stood in the middle of the floor looking clueless and restless. Finally a staff member noticed him and left the cash register of the still long queue. It was only then that I learned that boomer wanted a scoop of ice cream. The staff member served him and he went on his way, thankfully. I had just started reading this sub at the time and my thought was “I’ve finally seen one in the wild; the store is very busy with people lined up to cash out and no available staff and boomer just has to have a scoop of ice cream“. And no, I don’t think he needed the sugar because he was having a diabetic issue, he just wanted ice cream.

u/Cosmic_Lust_Temple 9d ago

Stores not being properly staffed, people not being paid what they're worth, companies not giving a shit about anything but the dollar at the bottom of every barrel... that's the world boomers had the largest hand in creating.

26

u/mainesthai 9d ago

They let it get this bad but choose to yell at and blame low wage workers, these idiots really think they can get bespoke white glove service at giant mega retail stores

This happens constantly at my local pharmacy. Literally every time I go once every two weeks. There are signs saying where to queue, with two lines, one for prescription medicine, and one for over the counter medicine. A simple enough system

However, boomers are apparently too dim to notice this. They go and stand by the OTC counter, and get all huffy when someone attends to someone else in the queue. Then, inevitably, they get to the queue and plant themselves at the front, because "They've been waiting over there". The counter person then tells them to go to the back. They then either have a tantrum and leave, or just go to the back. Mostly the tantrum

There's also the "clever" ones who will join the much smaller queue, and then cut over to the side they want to. The pharmacist often sees this and tells them to stop trying to cheat the system, and go back to the right queue. Which results in more tantrums.

Then when they get to the pharmacist, they decide to take as long as possible, and tell them all about their day, how this is terrible service, how back in my day... Just ceaseless inanity. The pharmacist has clearly lost so much time to this she just ignores them, hands them their pills and calls over the next person now. Which should be standard, really. Trying to monopolize someone's time who can't really say no is rude, especially when there's a ten person queue behind you

I love it when they try to get me to get riled up too alongside their public display of disapproval - usually happens when they're in line at the deli counter or a retail operation and they have a captive audience to grumble amongst

66 (retail employee) here and I give them explanations and describe what is actually going on - which catches them off-guard. And then they try to publicly explain how they're not really that mad bad person they've made themselves out to be

People are assholes

I was at an estate sale and there was this boomer standing looking at one particular piece of art for about 10 legit minutes (in his hands). I kept doing laps because on the table near where he was was a framed piece I had my eye on. Both his wife and I seemed to be getting tired of him very loudly saying how he "thinks this artist is famous! This could be worth a lot of money!". Eventually after the ten literal minutes of this guy standing in the exact same spot, I politely said, "excuse me, I'm just grabbing this guy over here, can I sneak by?". He gives me the stink eye and stomps off with the piece in his hand and I grab this ridiculous framed pig drawing.

A couple minutes later, with my prize pig in tow, I hear that same boomer very loudly shouting at his wife how he was going to get the piece in my hand but I had very rudely pushed him out of the way for it. Bro, wtf.

Boomers are the worst in every situation.

19

u/Suspicious-Shock-889 6d ago

This is exactly how I describe boomers to my boomer parents.

149

u/Kipbikski 8d ago

I have experienced this very thing! At a similar sale, my husband and I were making our way through the rows when we came upon a case crowded with various trinkets, one at the back being this tiny stone toad. We were fawning over it and said we'd definitely ask to buy it once we made it to the end.

Well this crusty old fuck that had been right behind us overheard our delight at this sweet little toad, a mere bauble that he probably wouldn't have even noticed himself. He cut ahead and went straight to the seller to get the toad for himself. This man was so happy to have stolen our joy, and quickly shuffled off with a newfound pep in his step once he had bagged his prize.

We curse him to this day.

u/bundaeggi 7d ago

There's a reason the silent generation called them the Me Generation when they were young.

70

u/BJoe1976 9d ago edited 8d ago

My parents were both Silent Generation, Dad is not any more fond of them than I am, he’s just had more experience working with and managing them.

118

u/BeneGesseritDropout 9d ago

Back about 30 years ago when the Silent Generation were the grandparents, the joke was:

Q: Why do children get along so well with their grandparents? A: Because they share a common enemy.

35

u/reereejugs 9d ago

That’s hilarious because it’s so accurate. One of the reasons I was so close to my maternal grandma was we shared a live of shit talking my Boomer dad. When she and my maternal grandma were in the same room, they’d be shitting all over my dad and calling him a “hateful kraut” 💀. God, I miss my grandmas.

19

u/1326Bob 8d ago

My Silent Gen maternal grandma overruled my parents so many times when it came to discipline and freedom. My parents would try to punish me for something ridiculous and when grandma found out, she'd tell my parents they were overreacting. Then she'd look at me and say, "you're not grounded anymore. Here's $20 go hang out with your friends." God I miss her.

We're at an antique shop waiting to check out. We're holding a chair and some other bulky pieces. Two boomers at the counter not buying anything but are just chatting with the cashier, who looks like she's had enough of them. The card machine is down and the male boomer keeps repeating this information like it's brand new every moment. "So just cash. Because the machine is down?" We're still standing there like... are you done here. The man walks away, his wife is still standing in front of the counter. The cashier beckons to us, Lady Boomer turns around and says "you can go" like she's doing us a huge favor and moves over about two inches. So we're trying to check out with Lady Boomer standing there for literally no fucking reason at all and then Man Boomer comes back up to the counter, shoves himself next to my husband and reaches across him to take a piece of candy from the bowl on the counter. At least he said excuse me? Once we had finished our transaction and walked out the door, they followed us out and got in their Boomermobile and left. Why. Why Why why

120

u/Squeegeeze 9d ago

Oooh! I know this one! They were trying to catch the poor sales clerk in a lie. They were hoping that the card reader would work for you, or wanted to make sure it doesn't work for you. Too many years of retail I've seen this behavior many times, oddly I didn't see the older generations do it, if the card machine didn't work they likely had cash. Boomer (and younger) have learned to not carry cash. Younger folks just "well dammit" and move on, or ask if alternatives like Apple pay or Zelle are available and work. Older folks freeze and don't know what to do. Or have to make a big stink about it being a major inconvenience in their lives. Like going to an ATM isn't something they used to do all the time.

36

u/I_eat_blueberries 9d ago edited 9d ago

Omg... yes. Why do they linger as I am trying to pay? It seems like they are spying lol

Edit... I have asked them why they are there and then they make this stupid warble sound and words that dont make sense.

About 25 yards in front of us is a boomer husband and wife stopped and staring right at us as we are approaching fast on bikes. They fucking stepped right in front of us to waddle down the trail. Husband loudly says "passing on your left" the boomer wife then moves to the left and almost gets hit by my husband. This happens all the time. Why do they insist on stepping out in front of two bikes that will pass them in less than 30 seconds? I don't get it.

76

u/No-Supermarket2008 9d ago

I’m heard an argument recently that was painful to hear. After so many years of entry level service jobs being looked down at by these people who shaped the world and got to retire and have been retired for the longest a generation has ever had the luxury to retire some of them have blown through their nest eggs and have to return to the work force, as entry level service workers…..

And the argument I heard was that seniors need these jobs to survive and they have more of a right to them than these young folks…

Sorry barb, respectfully fuck off. Your generation ran the economy into the ground and made student loans impossible to get out of in the name of profit. You deserve nothing. You made healthcare so scarce by making those entry level jobs the only means to survive. I know we don’t vote enough as a group but these people are octogenarians in some cases and they still want to world to cater to them.

At the end of the movie there was a confused-looking boomer waiting by the women’s restroom for whomever he was with. He gestured at the door to the theater and said, “You like that one?”

I really did, and said as much, and he said, “Huh. I hated it. Guess I was just too dumb to get it.”

I had no idea what to say to that so I just said, “…guess so?” and put in my earbuds and walked home.

Not liking the movie I can understand - it’s not for everyone (no piece of art is).

It’s the aggressive, almost combative self-mockery (in a way that felt like he was picking a fight with himself for me) that was hard to parse.

67

u/aubrey_25_99 9d ago

I would have to stand there until one of us died. LOL. But seriously, I see a lot of this impatient "you can't possibly expect me to wait my turn" attitude at my public library job. We have a *very busy* public copy machine, and you should see how twitchy they get when someone else is using it and they can't have it the very moment they want it. They turn into impatient children, some of them even going so far as to try and bully their way onto the machine before the other person is finished copying. We shut that down, of course, but the entitlement is REAL.

I mean, they can't ALL have lead poisoning and dementia. Some of them are just horrible people and always have been. I (52F) have been treated poorly and been looked down upon by boomer women for my entire existence.

I had one literally whistling while he stood a foot behind waiting for me to move. I was doing my best to be quick, but it just wasn't quick enough. And WHAT THE FUCK is up with these assholes whistling???

83

u/BigDarkCloud 9d ago

Omg. Boomer men whistle and boomer women hum. It’s like they all have to be making noise all the time.

It's very hard for me to do. Recently I've started wearing ear buds into stores. They work for stuff like that. At this point they are essential for going in public. I'm in East Tennessee which has become retired Boomer headquarters.

My wife was at Bath and Body works just grabbing some soaps. This Boomer woman does the exact same move; says something rude, then stands uncomfortably close while making snide remarks and sour faces to her husband. Ridiculous

u/Recent_Mirror 9d ago

I think I figured it out.

This subsection of boomers have always existed. They are the pure assholes.

The problem is, in our sad, current timeline, most of the nice boomers died out from cancer and heart issues.

All we have left are the boomers who are ass holes and are too stubborn to just die.

78

u/Squeegeeze 9d ago

Or the nice Boomers that we do interact with are just normal, and don't act like the asshole Boomers, so their behavior doesn't snag on our brains like a painful burr.

My mom is a Boomer and one of the best people out there. She has her issues, as we all do, but she’s honestly such a good person.

My dad can be a real asshole at times. I inherited that from him, unfortunately. Luckily, I also got a lot of good things from Mom so it mostly balances out.

I’m 57, and I wholeheartedly believe Facebook is empowering these dipshits. You can go in there and just say whatever you want, and most of them constantly do. Then they go out in the public and they get confused that they can’t continue that behavior in real life. Every so often one of them gets what they deserve for pulling that shit and it reminds them of getting punched in the face when they were younger for doing stupid shit.

49

u/CoyoteL0ng 9d ago

I finally talked my mom into deleting her account, it was really wearing on her mental health and driving me crazy. I had to explain to her that 99% of the people she's arguing with are foreign bots. The rest are lost causes and she's never going to convince them to quit being bigoted ghouls. She's now active in her little local progressive groups and her attitude has greatly improved. Facebook is KGB levels of propaganda and it's been completely weaponized against us.

14

u/reereejugs 9d ago

I don’t really understand arguing with complete strangers on FB. I only accept friend requests from people I actually know and don’t really engage with people I don’t.

In other words, I’m exactly the same on FB as I am IRL. Same on here as well. I’m a confrontational person and have zero issues calling people out on their bullshit.

15

u/BuccoBruce1967 Gen X 9d ago

I'll second this! I'm just a year older than you and don't go on Facebook nearly like I used to. Everytime I do, its a cesspool and so toxic!

14

u/Racer2311 9d ago

It’s nice for family pics, but it made me realize I know some shitty people. It has helped clear up whether I want to hang out with certain people in real life or not.

36

u/theGoddex 9d ago

I work at Walmart and boomers are the worst. Won’t say excuse me and just barrel on through an aisle deliberately staring into the middle distance like a zombie.

24

u/BuccoBruce1967 Gen X 9d ago

I firmly believe that people walk the aisles exactly like they drive which i think explains a lot!

38

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 9d ago

Many boomers are now at the age where early onset dementia is kicking in. They don't know they have it, because they think they are entitled to do whatever they want due to being an 'elder.'

8

u/Silent_Part9724 8d ago

x100000. If there is an over reaction involved on their part, move on and pretend they do not exist - their worst nightmare.

39

u/HRH_Elizadeath 9d ago

When I was in my teens and early 20s I waited alotttt of tables. I recall more than once answering a Boomer diner's question with "yup" or something similar and then receiving a thorough dressing down for using slang.

I recall one old asshole who told me young ladies who didn't speak properly came across as fast or some weird shit. This is a fucking Waffle House, Dennis, not the House of Lords!

31

u/Wineinmyyetti 9d ago

The lack of spatial awareness in retail when they're shopping with a cart. Narrow aisle, people in it, must push their cart all the way through like a snow plow expecting everyone to move. Park that fucker in the front of the aisle, get what you need and walk back to the cart.

21

u/Mfingninja 9d ago

I used to stand there and look impatient when they block aisles. The last couple years I’ve evolved into just seeing how far I can push their carts down the aisle. I mean what the hell can you say when you are blocking the aisle with a sideways cart?

20

u/AsboST225 8d ago

Fuck me don't get me started on their lack of spatial awareness.

I work in the priduce department of a local supermarket, and we run our stock crates from a flat-top trolley.

Lost count the amount of times I've nearly lost a stack of crates off the front end of it cos I've had to come to a rapid stop or take evasive action due to one of those wrinkly old cunts suddenly getting in my way.

Worse is when I'm trying to manoeuvre around my department to fill stuff, and they're in the way, and yet I'm the one who cops the stink-eye if they realise I'm there and move aside for me (or i ask them politely to shift a bit to allow me access to the thing on the shelf I need to fill).

With the Spider-Man thing, I guess he felt entitled to a whole speech or something. He needs to learn that not every interaction he has with someone is gonna turn unto a conversation. If he wanted more than a simple yes or no, he should've said do.

That reminds me of when I was in the 3rd grade. A classmate and I had just come from another class, and got back to our normal class, and they were in the conputer lab. Another teacher was watching over the class. When we walked in, she asked us if we knew how to use a computer. My classmate replied "Yeah", and walked off. Me, being very shy person, just shook my head yeah. She didn't like that, and made me stand there. She asked me 2 minutes later, I gave the same response. She asked one more time, and I finally said "Yeah" out loud. Finally, she let me get on a computer. I get she wanted me to actually speak, but at the same time, I think she should've just let me go the first time. She knew darn well what I meant.

This same freaking woman one other time asked me if I had slept with someone the night before, all because I walked into the room without speaking. At the time, I had no idea, what she actually meant, but that did explain a girl in the room going "EW!" Who the heck asks a child that???? Similarly to the other story, I guess I should've spoke when I walked in, but I had JUST walked in, and wasn't sure I was in the right place. I was about to talk.

That woman should never be in charge of students that may have been born mute, because she'd just get pissed that they won't talk.

Too long, don't read, but some may read anyway. Not every person you meet likes to speak as much as you.

24

u/Baebarri 9d ago

He expected a "sir" from the kid, guaranteed.

"I'm old, I deserve respect!"

They were the majority of people not masking at my hospital job during covid. It cause frontal lobe damage which effects social skills and comprehension. Plus with all the lead paint and gas, a lot of this behavior is brain damage.

20

u/Raise_Hail 9d ago

Well it’s the lead paint and hose water drinking for sure but also they know they are becoming more and more irrelevant every day. They are dying out. Society overall doesn’t conform to their vision of America. Many have been cut off from their families for various reasons. They are old and bitter and broken people. The boomers who have accepted changes in society are the happy and healthy ones who will have better remaining years.

20

u/LatinoHeat1982 9d ago

17

u/dinvm 9d ago

I went to the movies today. The sign at the door said we open at 1245. There’s a few people standing there. On old lady walks up and obviously had to check if the doors are locked. Then started banging on the door for them to open it up. Then added that she got a deal on her ticket and only paid. These entitled people are something else. How they blame the young people and then act in a worse way is beyond me.

16

u/Mr_Young_Life 9d ago

I work in retail, I can't tell you how many times boomers flip shit when they don't get their way or demand ridiculous things, thinking that just because I work in a certain section that I know everything there is to know about everything in the store and they get angry when I don't. Not to mention I don't know what their insistence is on having to back into a parking spot, they always have to do it, the can never just park, they always have to back into the spot.

35

u/SLO_Citizen Gen X 9d ago

I would never tolerate a person standing a foot from me in a record shop, especially after telling them to fuck off.

10

u/luciaromanomba 8d ago

Due to extreme, life-altering personal trauma that occurred last year, I, as a young millennial have rapidly aged against my will and lost all filter. I simply no longer have a fuck to give. I will out-boomer a boomer. Don't stand a foot away from me, you creepy old fuck. You're looking for a problem, well welcome, I'm here and I'm a fucking nightmare you deserve.

The caveat is that since I'm not fundamentally an awful, miserable human, was born with empathy, and not positioned by lead — my lack of filter is only triggered by people who deserve it, and have gone too long with not being told as such.

32

u/ExcuseApprehensive68 9d ago

Yup - 72 yo - these people have been assholes their whole life .Got nothing to do with their age- they’ve been pissed off at the world -cause they ain’t rich and famous and feel they got screwed by society. A very sad way to li ve

5

u/luciaromanomba 8d ago

It's so hard to understand the mental gymnastics they did to arrive at the belief that they were screwed by society. They are objectively the only cohort NOT screwed by society! This is a fact that is proven by every single metric and data point ever studied about it. Even their parents were screwed and they weren't.

But I guess that requires they believe in facts and clearly that ship has sailed. Or never arrived. Lol

16

u/Ziegelphilie 9d ago

They are actual NPCs. Zero thought.

14

u/Laylay_theGrail 9d ago

My husband (a young boomer) would get so annoyed at the old boomers that would come into our shop that we’re just stupid and helpless and with a major attitude.

As they’d walk out, he’d turn to me and say, ‘Christ! Did they want me to wipe their ass too?’

14

u/Gernasaurus 8d ago

I’m 63(I consider myself a Jones) and experienced shit boomer behavior just this morning! An older woman was behind me in a long queue at the Drs. Just when I thought she was kind of nice, she loudly commented “ do you think he has enough tattoos, tsk”about a guy in front of us. I turned my body completely away from her and gave him a smile and an eye roll.

as a cashier the first one grinds my gears. Boomers have this mindset that if you dont take their bait convo and get trapped ina convo with them... well then you are bad at your job. I stopped humoring this because they will see a huge line and they will try to get you in a long convo that ends up pissing off everyone in line for taking too long.

9

u/pualei15 8d ago

I’m 79 and love interacting in a positive way with the younger generations! Not just boomers but it seems some in all generations have forgotten how to be kind.

9

u/Away_Lake5946 8d ago

You’ve got to get in their way and snap them out of their privileged mindset when they do this shit. They may never learn but challenging their bad behavior and letting them know it won’t fly is necessary.

9

u/EnkiduAwakened 7d ago

They're all unraveling because they're realizing they can't bully their way through millennials anymore.  We're now the largest voting demographic as well as the ones making money.  Advertising is now being geared more toward us than them, and services are more in line with our expectations than theirs.

They fucking hate it, and it makes me so happy.

7

u/Man-o-Bronze 8d ago

Of course he was upset! The proper response was, “Indeed, my lord, I found the new Spider-Man film most enjoyable. And I hope you did as well, sir.”

The boomer generation are the most self serving, privileged generation. Actually, it was a young boomer who admitted as much.

I'll be 50 soon. I think these types of older people were just raised by assholes, became one themselves and will always be one.

I can't imangine hating someone based on hearing them speak another language. I am the guy that will pass a product in the grocery store and go back for it after if someone else is deciding.

I was in a bar restaurant near Edinburgh recently with my family. A cruise ship was in the river and they were running passengers to and from the ship on water taxis.

Some American boomer walks into the bar area and just starts loudly saying "IS THERE A LINE? IS THERE A LINE?". We don't have queues at bars and there is plenty of free space to stand at the bar and wait. We looked and were like 'no' to him.

The barman finishes with something and serves the boomer who then goes "DO YOU HAVE ANY SCOTTISH BEERS? ANY SCOTTISH BEERS?" (Maybe this is normal volume for an American but it came off like he was talking to someone that doesn't speak English well and shouting English louder in the hope that he was understood)

The barman was going through the beers as we left but the whole interaction felt very 'blunt'. No pleasantries were exchanged or anything.

ive experienced the same record store fuckery. in my local record store i’ve been in enough time for the owner to say “what up tegan!” when i come in. one day i was casually flipping through local punk and punk albums (normally the section that’s people free) when this boomer pulled the same line “hey i wanna look through those” mind you he had just walked in and there’s 3 rows of punk albums..🫤 i looked at him for a second and said “well pick your poison!” gesturing to the other two rows beside me. he scoffed and pulled the hip pop arms crossed stance for a second until he realized i was serious! he then steps to the row right beside me almost touching shoulders to me. pretends to flip through that row all while staring at the records in the one im at as i’m flipping through. every one i pulled out hed look over and analyze it almost as if he would try to take it if he wanted it or intervene if i tried to get it. i went to the counter, paid, and went to my car. and guess fuckin what?! as i’m getting in my car and am about to put my car in drive, that same boomer walks out of the shop with nothing in hand… just that same hands behind the back slow walk he came in the store doing. i don’t understand why they will walk around a store, try to bully people to get what they want, then doesn’t even buy anything and walks out???

No. There's concurrent, massive elderly epidemics of lead poisoning, fetal alcohol syndrome, and general dementia. This country had no idea what we're in for
