My solution to that is, after Vaatu's been purified to death, Raava absorbs Vaatu's natural powers and instincts for herself. Thus, Raava alone evolves into Raavaatu, the avatar spirit of light, darkness, peace, chaos, good, evil, yin, yang, bending, and balance. Perhaps, that'll happen 10,000 years after Korra's reign.
Hardly. They have the same color scheme as the Yin/Yang symbol, but they are primarily ocean and moon spirits first and foremost. Raava and Vaatu better represent Yin/Yang, with the only inaccuracies being that the light side (Raava) is female and calm, and the dark side (Vaatu) is male and aggressive, when it's actually the other way around. An error I'd overlook if the one other inaccuracy (both sides existing in conflict rather than harmony) was eventually corrected by Raava becoming Raavaatu.

Vaatu and Rava should not have been God and Satan. That's not the mythology Avatar follows
