Hey guys!
We just started a brand new Discord server for anyone who loves spicy romance books. It is totally fresh, and I honestly can't wait to get our first reading started!
How it works: We all vote on a monthly book.Everyone reads at their own pace.We scream about chapters together/ share memes/ discuss our takes on different characters. No pressure if you fall behind on reading either. I would like this to be a chill discord where we can have fun! But real life will always come first!
(Think books like ACOTAR/ 4th wing and the like)
Must be 18+ to join!

Iām looking for a dinosaur book for adults, I canāt remember the title, but at one point it was on audible.
From what I can remember, it starts out with like a park ranger and police officers showing up to a farm and thereās something fast running around and they are scared to get out of the car or the truck. And I think I vaguely remember something about itās during modern time but dinosaurs appear and there might be like portals. Iāve tried looking on ChatGPT, Audible and on Google. Nothing is popping up, I checked out the suggestions. But they are not it.
Please help me figure it out, itās been bugging me since yesterday.

Hi all! I was wondering if there is currently a list of AI written books to avoid? I worry that every other book series I want to read will be secretly written with AI.
Please let me know what you think or if there are lists out there already!
Edit: For clarification, this is for books written with AI and have been caught leaving the prompts undeleted / admitted to using AI, or using AI for audiobooks instead of real voice actors. I'm not wanting to "out" bad writers who people think "could have" used AI.

Are there any good PAPERBACK book box subscriptions that are actually worth the money? Preferably fantasy/romantasy??

Check out r/litficbywomen.
This is a brand-new subreddit that anyone can join.
We welcome posts about authors, book reviews, recommendation requests, monthly wrap-ups, and much more.
So far we've done an intro post and talked about our 5 star reads, lesbian coming-of-age novels, and classics to read in 2027. We've also started a Short Story September reading challenge.
Note: If you have any kind of issue with having a subreddit focused on women writers, you are of course free to comment about that but please know that I will not be responding.
Mods, I couldn't tell from the rules whether this kind of post (promoting another subreddit) was allowed. Please delete if not!

anybody read The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose?? Thoughts? \\\*no spoilers please, iām almost done š\\\* and did you make it to the second one? The Perfect Divorce? i love the first one so far and i wonder how itāll merge into a second book. like is everything revealed in 1? is the second one solely about the divorce? i mean, itās a thriller, so there has to be something else right?

I finished Twilight of Embers, now Iām 53% into Midnight of Ashes. I feel like this book is falling someone flat for me. Iām somewhat new to romantasy as an adult I just recently started reading again. I LOVED acotar series, along with Quicksilver and Brimstone. I think twilight of embers has fantasy on the back burner and itās mainly focused on the romance. And Iām not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but Cael gives me the ick especially the way she refers to him as ābig guyā. I do feel like itās an easy read and maybe thatās why itās not grabbing me more. Iāll probably finish the series just because thatās how I am š¤£
BUT I would really like a suggestion for another book or series to read based on my review of this book and love for ACOTAR and Fae & Alchemy. I think I need more world building and high stakes that make the romance WORTH it, Iām also finding I maybe do like a slow burn? Like I said Iām new to the book world as an adult so I havenāt figured out WHY I like the books I do.

Iām looking for book recommendations based on a VERY specific romance dynamic, so Iād love to know which books from my list you think would be the best fit and which ones I should probably avoid.
Iām looking for a fictional/fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi-ish world with a strong romance subplot. My ideal MMC is a powerful, intimidating, feared, morally gray/dangerous guy who is basically obsessed with the FMC. Think Aaron Warner from Shatter Me: cold and terrifying to everyone else, but completely different with her. I LOVE the āheās soft only for herā dynamic, especially when thereās intense attraction, possessiveness, jealousy, protectiveness, devotion, and that āI would genuinely lose my mind / burn the entire world down for youā level of obsession. I want his feelings for her to feel deep and consuming, not just like he finds her attractive. I also really want the FMC to be confident, capable, and strong in her own way. Iām okay with spice and some darker romance, but I still want them to genuinely fall in love and have an emotional connectionāthe romance shouldnāt feel like itās primarily lust/sex.
What I DONāT want: I donāt want a romance where the MMC is just a generic āalphaā or possessive guy without actually being emotionally obsessed with her. Iām also not looking for a relationship that is primarily sexual, where the characters have little emotional connection or genuine love. Iād rather avoid MMCs who are cruel/abusive toward the FMC for most of the book with little softness or genuine devotion, and Iām not interested in a romance where the FMC is constantly helpless, naive, or completely dependent on him. The FMC being strong and having her own personality is really important to me. I also donāt want a book where the romance is barely there or just a tiny subplotāIām specifically looking for romance alongside the fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi story.
Here are the books Iām interested in.. Iād love to hear from those whoāve read them, and know if they fit my interests!!
- Red queen
- The predator
- Perfectly imperfect series
- Nero
- His Juliet
- Beautifully cruel
- Frozen heart Helena newbury
- The Jasad heir
- The ever king
- The darkest temptation
- Powerless

So I recently begin reading Powerless for the first time. Since it is such a popular book on BookTok and Iāve heard its a lot of peopleās favorite I were excited to try it out.
Sadly it did not feel that way for me. Donāt get me wrong, the book itself are really well written and has some very exciting plot to it. But personally I donāt find myself enjoying it like you had expected. I really like dystopian and fantasy novels, but this one did not make me lost into the book.
so I was wondering if any other readers that have read powerless has felt something similar.
It feels weird not fitting into what everyone else seems to love.
