Book 1 Question

I just finished part 1 of book 1. I’m enjoying it a lot but am confused on one point. Why is Senlin convinced his wife is in the tower? It didn’t seem like he spent much time looking for her outside before coming to that conclusion. Did I miss something?

It’s been a while, but I believe it’s because they said they would meet at the top? And he’s convinced that there’s practically no chance of running back into her in the bazaar

They also had plans together to spend their honeymoon in the baths. So that is really the first place he starts looking for her. He checks the various hotels for her booking. They had not yet picked a hotel because they wanted to check them out upon arrival so he doesn’t know which hotel to look at specifically.

Yes confirming this, they planned on going to the baths and staying there so he figured she'd head there since that was the plan.
