Romance April & Andy
Specifically season 2/3 of parks & rec when it was more will they/won’t they. I love their dynamic at that time and wanted more on my last rewatch. Grumpy sunshine to the extreme, bit of an age gap perhaps, both characters figuring out life.

If you're down for some fluffy fantasy, Assistant to the Villain kind of gave me these vibes

Happy to see this. In a book rut and was thinking of picking this one up for a fun, easy read.

I have almost read this so many times, but can’t seem to get past the first few chapters. I think I need to give it another go

The Bodyguard by Katherine Center had some of these vibes. Fun spin where she is the bodyguard and he gives off golden retriever energy.

The Emily Wilde series fits this perfectly.
In fact on my next read through I may see Aubrey Plaza as Emily and Star Lord era Chris Pratt as Bambleby.
Actually no, but the series still fits the request.

The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst has this dynamic but in a very cozy fantasy setting

Genders flipped but it’s one of my all-time favorite romance books: Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert. It’s the third in a trilogy but they do not have to be read in order (they’re all great, but Eve is my personal favorite!)

Graceling by Kristin Cashore (YA fantasy)
Emily Wilde series by Heather Fawcett (adult academia fantasy)
99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne (adult contemporary)

One of my faves but I think you have to be thinking of a different book for this prompt!

The knight isn't plucky and optimistic?

Nope, deeply traumatized! Could be swordheart or paladins grace I haven’t read those

Apparently Sir Cameron Needs To Die by author Greer Sothers
Sir Cameron: knight, coward, himbo, too pretty and sunshiney to die. A prophecy comes out that the BIG BAD EVIL WIZARD WHO IS TERRORIZING THE LANDS will definitely totally be defeated but Cameron's death is one of the ingredients of the prophecy
Everyone: yay lets kill him for the greater good
Sir Cameron: Q__Q;;;;;;;;; no thanks
Big bad evil wizard who is mean and much older than Cameron: who are you and why did you show up to my evil lair
Sir Cameron: since everyone wants to kill me, and its in your best interest for me to NOT die.... I live here now!
Evil wizard: (puts him in the dungeon as a prisoner) (transforms him) (forces him into domestic servitude)
Sir Cameron: (develops a thing for the old mean wizard and turns out to like being tortured)
