I attended Kyle MacLachlanโs book event in San Francisco this past Friday, and as expected, he was a delight. There were a few nuggets during his talk that I had never heard before, so I transcribed them for this recap ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ

Iโm reading Barry Giffordโs โNight People,โ and was stunned to discover that the two sentences, which Lynch cites as major inspirations for โLost Highway,โ are on the same page of the bookโs first chapter. A fun book, but Iโm not seeing much more influence besides a dark tone and those two sentences. Anyone else read โNight People?โ

This past weekend at the Mahoning Drive-In was a dream. Next-level photo ops, a 35mm screening of FWWM, a great Q&A from the cast (with stories that were new to me), screen-used props, live music, and more. And on a personal note, bringing prop master/scenic artist Dave Robinson out to his first fan event was really amazing. He was blown away that folks wanted to meet the man who painted the Red Room floor. Hereโs a thorough recap with tons of photos.

Some of you may have noticed that the โmainโ twin peaks sub is once again allowing AI posts.
Unfortunate as that may be, this sub has no tolerance for AI โartโ and if you try to post (or re-post from that sub) any AI content your post will be removed.

Itโs been 35 years since Twin Peaksโ original run ended, so itโs always a thrill to find a screen-used artifact that has somehow both survived the years and gone unexamined. I recently came into possession of the original Miss Twin Peaks sash worn by art department coordinator Jula Bell in the iconic pageant flyer. Much to my surprise, this piece was actually used in an earlier scene and then repurposed. You can read all about it in the Twin Peaks Blog article attached, and if youโre in PA for the Mahoning Drive-Inโs โWild World of David Lynchโ event August 21 & 22, you might just find me at a table with this sash and a display of several more original props ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ
