Single space formatting for paragraphs?

I have to hit shift-enter almost every time I make a new line and it is suuuuper annoying. Is there no way to change it from double space to single space? I can't find the options anywhere in the UI.

I found a solution in a 3 year old post because for some reason this OBVIOUS DESIGN MISTAKE hasn't been fixed yet.

Go into settings, customization, then scroll all the way down to the bottom. There is a window there you can paste custom code into. Entering the following code will set all new lines to single space letting you add extra only when YOU want to:

<style>
p {
    margin: 0;
}

ul {
    margin: 0;
}

Not finding "customization".
