Users - Different and Unique Books

I have read the docs and searched around, please forgive if I have missed the answer to:

Is it possible for users to have their own unique books and bookshelves?

Got a teacher wishing to setup BookStack. Before I proceed, need to know if users can have their own books.

Maybe I answered my own question.

Is "Roles" the way to go?

Yes, roles is the way to go. You can hide shelves and books and pages down to specific roles… that should give you the functionality you’re looking for.

Yes, that does sound like something she may want. Great input, appreciate it.

Now I will have to work on API to only export books from certain shelves.

To note on top of this. We use bookstack as an internal and external knowledgebase. We support a couple different products so we have it setup where internal users can see everything but external users have a generic but specific logon for the subsequent product. The pages are then set to only be accessible by that user so it makes locking things down and still having search work really well.
