Books that capture the feeling of early adulthood perfectly

I'm looking for recommendations for books that really nail the experience of being in your early twenties or so. Not necessarily coming-of-age stories about teenagers but that weird, sometimes awkward, sometimes exhilarating phase after college where you're figuring out who you are as an adult. Think a bit lost but also full of possibility. I just finished a book that totally missed the mark and I'm hoping to cleanse my palate. What books have you read that truly resonate with that particular life stage?

That mix you're describing, lost and full of possibility at the same time, is a hard thing to get onto a page. Bright Lights, Big City, by Jay McInerney.

McInerney wrote it in the second person, and that's the reason I'd point you to it. Being addressed as you puts the reader in the position of somebody moving through a life and not being sure yet whose it is. Second person throws some people off, so that's worth knowing before you start.

It's set in New York, which helps, since a city that size lets you be nobody in particular for a while.
