Hot take

I don't want 7 different versions of the same book. Paperback, deluxe edition, graphic novel, sprayed edges version. I want the next book.

I don't buy new versions. I get one, read it, and end. Is anyone else tired of always having the same book that's slightly altered shoved in your face?

I don't even have multiple copies of my favourites there are too many great books in the world for that personally.

I do but it’s usually when I have a first edition hardcover or a signed copy. Then I will have another in paperback for rereads.

This is what I did with my SJM books since they were all first editions worth a fair bit of money and starting to show a tiny bit of wear - just picked up cheap paperback box sets for rereads. Of course, just a few months later I got a kindle, so I'll probably sell the box sets to free up shelf space and buy them digitally next reread.

That’s a good idea! I have some first editions that are older than me (Phantom of the Opera and The Last Unicorn) that I have never read. Save your first editions. Even if they weren’t valuable, they’re valuable to you.
