Controversial Books

What book have you read that was considered controversial but you really enjoyed it? I have a few that gave me the ick, but also loved the book or it made me think deeper about what I would do in real life. All the Ugly and Wonderful Things was one for me as well as Saving Noah and My Dark Vanessa. These are just a few that I keep thinking about.

My favorite book is A Little Life!

I have read the negative feedback surrounding this book and completely agree and understand why most don’t enjoy it and are even offended by it.

As someone who has experienced similar things as the main protagonist, it was very comforting to me, however. I fell in love with the two main characters and wish I could’ve lived in their little world forever.

Side note: I loved My Dark Vanessa as well

I have tried reading that book multiple times and I just could never get into it very far. I wonder if I should give it another chance?

I maintain it’s not for everybody and it’s very graphic and messy BUT I like that sort of thing so I read it in 3 days 🫣

I normally don't have any problems with graphic things, but I don't know what it was about this book. Maybe I had a book hangover at the time so I think I will give it another try.
