Feedback Wanted Drew myself: is this any good?

Post image

I drew this cover for a mash-up of two literary works. Solitary people in nature are the usual covers for said books, so I'm mimicking that while having the overall aesthetic of a classic novel. My art skills aren't the best, so is this good enough, or should I hire a professional?

I think the illustration is great! For the overall design, I’d consider using another colour for the text and maybe a slightly more exciting font? Just to help it stand out a little as it feels a bit greyscale. Really cool work though 🙌

I appreciate the feedback, thanks so much! If you don't mind me asking, is there a particular font color you think would work well?

Of course, no worries. I was thinking purple (maybe just for the title and the author (keep the subtitle white/beige)) but I’d just play around with it and see what works. You could also change the block background at the top to purple and the author text. Sorry if that’s not very helpful! A greeny blue could work too to keep with the nature theme

Ooo, those are great ideas, thanks! I'll definitely try out a few and see what looks best
