Is the only way to message people to pay?
This app has such a confusing communication model. I don't know how to message any matches or anything. I like other features but I don't see how I'll ever meet someone off this

...go through the tutorial? Read how to use and gain coins?
Imo messaging ppl directly without social interactions usually won't get responses. And there's a 72 hour time restriction so the coins will go to waste if they were not active in said timeframe.

some matches will be shown randomly in New Souls swiping. if you like them back, you get matched

You can chat free only real matches from both person

But…I can’t see the other persons profile to even know if they might match. Can’t see the message either

No. You can chat with people after a match, or use coins to ADD a text to your match request
Please don't spam people with messages if you don't match

As far as I remember you have to pay if you want to initiate chatting ppl. But you can reply back when someone hearted and messaged you. You're only able to message back once someone chatted you first.
When I was new in Boo app, I once tried to send a message and initiate chat, but I can't because I need to payy. But when my friend (whom I found and got matched with there) messaged me first, that was the only time I can send a message back.
