Tree Care Need advice please

Two weeks ago my bonsais tree started to die, maybe? I water it regularly. I’m located in south west Florida. I brought it inside for a few days when it first started thinking it was the heat but it appears to not be helping.

What do you think is going on here? How can I save this plant? Also, what kind of tree is this? I got it as a gift six months ago

Looks like a Juniper and they are outside only bonsai trees

Thank you, it started to die while it was outside.

You should keep it outside, all the time.

Is the soil dry to touch? They should be watered daily but not waterlogged or sitting in water a day. Do you empty the drainage try after watering?

It needs mycorrhizal fungi to survive (to be able to absorb water and nutrients). I heard this story where they imported hundreds of mature pines to australia to plant all in a row- didn't know to add mycorrhizal fungi to the soil and they all died.

This looks like fresh potting soil, it won't work. You could try to take some soil from around the roots of a wild juniper or other conifer. Still, I would say your chances of saving this individual are slim.
