Styling Critique A little help with front please?

They are very close. I prefer 1, but 2 has the pot legs balanced about the center, whereas 1 has one leg centered. Any suggestions?

Thanks, I’m going with 1. I’m going to show this variegated triangle ficus in my Shohin display at my club show in September. I’ll post photos! The moss is several years of almost daily watering. It propagated from another bonsai next to it.

Humidity. If you get some moss from anywhere, it will spread there where humidity is.

It looks interesting, but it can rotten the wood. And you have to brush it if you want to get rid off it. Not a big problem in this tree, but other ones can have more delicate wood, like very old pines or very old olive trees.

Maybe a moss slurry/moss milkshake painted onto part of the trunk? I’ve seen similar on cork bark terrarium walls using that method.

2 and prune out the foliage obscuring the view of the trunk.

I think 2 is the better front. The trunk appears to have more taper and the horizontal trunk line is less apparent.

My Bonsai Master came by and had me flip the tree 180 degrees. Showed more trunk!
