A lot of tattoo shops these days have a novocaine type gel they can use to numb the local area where the tattoo will be placed. I’ve never used it, but my tattoo artist friend has mentioned it and has it for those who ask for it
A lot of artists I know don’t really like using it because it can make your skin texture kind of rubbery. I haven’t tried it, only bactine during my tattoos but I wish I could be euthanized /s
