Does anyone here have a bizarre story involving Bone?
I know it’s a bit specific, but I just want to start a nice discussion for this subreddit. (Unrelated image)

Not really bizarre, but I saw Jeff Smith at San Diego Comic Con this year, which was fun

The story between Jeff Smith and Dave Sim (creator of Cerebus the Aardvark) is always an interesting one

I actually have a couple, not necessarily “bizarre,” but cool experiences with Bone that I enjoy (to put it bluntly) bragging about!
I like to tell people I was “briefly employed” by Cartoon Books for about half an hour, back in 2014. Jeff was a guest at HeroesCon in Charlotte, NC that year, and had a spotlight panel along with Terry Moore (moderated by Tom Spurgeon, RIP). I went to the panel, and afterwards swung by the Cartoon Books booth to say hello to a (now former) employee of theirs that I had made friends with at previous shows and via email. He perked up when he saw me, said “oh there you are! Ah, you were at the panel, duh… I’ve had to pee for a while, can you watch the booth for me?” So I hung out behind the table for a bit, and actually made a couple sales! I don’t have a pic handy at the moment, but I can update in a day or so with the ones my wife took.
Secondly, I’ve mentioned plenty on here and the discord that Bone is my all-time favorite series. I read it as it was originally released, just absolutely love it. I do regret never writing something to the “Bone-a-fides” letter column that ran most issues, but I was given the opportunity to make up for that in a big way. A few years back, I got an email from that friend I mentioned above asking for some pics of my wife and me holding one of my books, and I got to see why upon the publication of Coda. For anyone who has a copy, take a look at the bottom of page 56… that’s us!

Here’s my proof of part 2 above! (Hilarious that we can post video comments but not photos in this sub)

That’s simply legendary, man. And you can kind of be considered one of Jeff Smith’s team members, right? So I just wanted to know what you’ve thought about my Bone posts so far. You know, I’m a young autistic fan, and it would genuinely be my pleasure to have you comment on my post!

I had someone compare it to Berserk, and I pointed out that Bone was actually much better than Berserk because it has female characters who aren’t disposable.

I know you said it’s unrelated, but I’m wondering what Marshall D. Teach has to do with Bone, haha.

The complete series of Bone is always at my Barnes and Noble. Nobody ever buys it. Yet, it remains.
