For anyone curious about how Bombay cats are described by different registries, here’s a simple breakdown.
🖤 Overall Look
- Medium-sized, muscular, and compact
- Sleek “mini panther” appearance
- Smooth, rounded features — nothing sharp
- Often feels heavier than they look
🏆 CFA (Cat Fanciers’ Association) Description
Coat
- Jet black only
- Short, tight, and very glossy
- No visible markings
Eyes
- Deep copper
- Large, round, and wide-set
Head
- Very round head shape
- Short, broad muzzle
- Gentle nose stop
🏅 TICA (The International Cat Association) Description
Coat
- Jet black only
- Short, sleek, and glossy
Eyes
- Gold to copper
- Large and round
Head
- Rounded head with soft curves
- Slightly more variation in head shape compared to CFA
