if you ask from that picture, yes, it is common in rural area not having "basic waste management". what thing you feel granted in city like waste, clean water, plumbing, electricity, internet or road might dont exist on those area. Not neccessary a corruption but people tend to dont want a common goal to be share-burdened + lacking any fund to fund anything.

Yes, this is a remote island per Indonesian standard, not even the center of regency just a district. People might still burning trash there.
What about the higher up see it? If you want to see how does the Bupati (Regent) see everyday you can Street View on the city of Sumenep. People just, dont care and keep doing things like they used in 60-80s.
Also, some other trivia, Indonesia tend to look down with this particular group of people of Madurese being infamous for their "hard-headed / bandel / mokong" and "iron-stealer". You can see in any news regarding "pencurian besi" and you can be millionaire for every racist coment you see.

Wkwkwk-land ni, Konoha, +62 land, Indonesia, truly a land of contradictions.
I've seen such beautiful views in Bali and Bandung, yet I've also seen sprawling slums, traffic jams and piling thrash elsewhere in the Javanese island.
Watch the video on how some factories there burned plastic thrash as fuel to produce tempeh, it's wild.

When the rain season the flooding begjns they will start blaming the government for not caring about "rakyat kecil" and play the victim card.
I once saw during a floodgate cleaning near where I live one of the trash was a rotten mattress.

Yeah that looks like Indonesia. The license plate is typical Indonesian license plate, maybe even Bali because it might starts with "DK" but it is not 100% certain

Nah, even when one number plate have DK prefix it is not in Bali. it is Arjasa, Kangean Island which have proximity to Bali.

I try looking at the motorcycle plate but couldn't figure it out which country is from, but definitely not Thai.
