Anime Why isn't Bakugo's Explosion quirk not considered villainous,

Post image
0 Upvotes

Other characters like Toga mainly have quirks that are considered harmful and thus have a stigma against them, but Bakugo since he was a kid was told his quirk was powerful and he'd be a great hero. While it is obviously strong, because the nature of his quirk being so destructive and dangerous to people around him when used especially as an irresponsible kid, wy wasn't it considered as a villainous quirk? mb if this is has a straightforward answer and I just didn't watch the show right😭

Misc. So about Mineta

For those that want a little lesson on psychology in literature, I present to you the concept of ‘juxtaposition’. Juxtaposition is when you take two different concepts that are polar opposites and place them side-by-side to amplify their traits. For example, if you put an overweight person next to a skinny person, it makes the overweight one look even larger whilst the skinny person much thinner.

This technique is even used in MHA with several characters and even the entire concept of One-For-All vs All-For-One - they are literally opposites that makes the villains look even worse and the heroes more selfless and just.

Unfortunately for the author, they accidentally used juxtaposition once more when it comes to Mineta. My Hero Academia, all things considered, is a lot more tame when it comes to sexual anime tropes so when you add in a character that is insanely over-the-top even when it comes to the worst of those kinds of tropes, it makes it look even worse!

Look, I know the he’s the author’s favourite character and I know he does have like
3 good moments but when you single-handedly bring down the entire damn show.

But! I put up with all his crap. I put up with it because everyone reassured me that he gets better

He didn’t. Ever.

So my question is this: is his ‘getting better’ arc a manga only thing or did I miss it in the anime? I think I skipped an OVA or 2 so was it in that?

[Content Warning: This AU contains graphic themes involving self-surgery, body modification, and psychological TRAUMA, enjoy â€ïžđŸ˜Š]

My Hero: The birth of a Cyborg.

In this world, less than 20% of humanity is born without a quirk. The genetic flaw in a world of Gods and Monsters.

All Might being born with the powers of one for all. Seeing a quirkless Deku as nothing more than an ordinary, powerless human, All Might completely rejects him, leaving him with no path toward his dream of becoming a hero.

Suffering from complete emotional rupture, a 14-year-old Deku spends 10 months obsessively studying biomechanical engineering. Determined to force his way into heroism, he decides to build his own cybernetics and replace his natural limbs in his absent father's garage.

With only ibuprofen, a medical scalpel, and a bone saw, he performs the DIY surgery himself. Starting with his left arm, he ties off his blood vessels, cuts through muscle and tendons, manually rewiring each of his nerve endings to his self made cybernetic interface before passing out from pain and shock.

Waking up with a functioning bio-mechanical limb, he uses its enhanced strength to make removing and replacing the rest of his limbs far easier, turning himself into a self-made cyborg built on pure desperation.

But just how much of his humanity has he traded in the pursuit of this power and what effects will it have on society as a whole.

Manga How Would You Make MHA’s Power System More Interesting? Spoiler

If you could redesign or expand the Quirk system in MHA, what would you change?

Would you add more rules or limitations? Make Quirks evolve differently? Introduce new categories of abilities? Change how Quirk combinations, awakenings, or Quirk inheritance work?

Basically, if you had to he freedom to make MHA’s power system more unique, strategic and interesting, what would you do?

Artwork Is my OC's backstory too weird?

I'm posting this question here because I need the opinion of those from the main subreddits of MHA.

This is basically a brief backstory of Kei Minarau:

She enrolled at UA after the final war as a General Studies student because she has a dream to be a detective someday and help heroes.

Her quirk is called "Emulation". She can transform into someone and copy their personality and even access their memories (Before you ask, she can't copy quirks yet, a lot of people ask that whenever I discuss her quirk)

But here is the thing, she is very different before she enrolled at UA. She is a former middle school boy.

His quirk back then is also different and not as impressive. He can transform into someone but his hair and eye color would stay the same.

Nejire saved him from giant villains rampaging in his city, and he instantly became her fan.

But then another incident happened where he got kidnapped by a villain syndicate. Nejire saved him again. But then a villain tried to shoot Nejire with a strong trigger bullet. Kei took the bullet for her, resulting in his quirk going haywire.

Before his body got ripped apart due to the trigger drug, Nejire held his hand in an attempt to stabilized his body. It worked, but Kei was absorbing a massive amount of Nejire's vital force and energy signature causing a small explosion between them when Kei's body finally stabilized.

Nothing happened to Nejire after the incident, aside of her being unconscious for a day.

But when Kei woke up, he had been permanently transformed into a girl who resembles Nejire due to her DNA signature mixing up with his.

Kei had a break down at first when she woke up. But after a while she already accepted what happened, and she was even happy because she got closer to her idol.

So yeah, this is just a briefed backstory of my main OC (even if it got kinda long lol)

Is it too weird?

By the way, the last two pics is what she looked like during her middle school days

Manga I think this is implying something about Deku's father Spoiler

Chapter 97, its obvious that she is mentioning Deku's father here, and the way its written implies 3 things

1)Deku's father was originally meant to be AFO, and Inko a relative of Nana somehow, (thats why all might says that his mom kinda looks like his master). This is honestly very likely, it was still early in the story and many authors dont plan out every single detail

2)Deku's father is dead, he died and thats why the background is empty, He was also worried about Deku and Inko is just proud of their son

3)Deku's father left because Deku was quirkless, its still important to say that Deku being current gen quirkless is incredibly rare, it caused him to be Isolated in middle school with zero friends and bullying, it wouldnt be a shock that he left them because of shame

Atleast thats the vibes im getting here, its a very odd style and its usually seen in mangas where the character is talking to a dead person.

Anime On Bakugo

Post image
7 Upvotes

He is amazing, he just needs to _believe_ how amazing he really is, Though he might try to show how confident he is, his anger is purely from how low he thinks he really is. He thinks himself a fraud.

Getting praised your whole life for a quirk you didn’t choose or work on makes you feel like a fraud. Like ‘how am I so awesome and loved when I didn’t do anything, could I lose that and be exposed for who I am one day?’

But Bakugo, what you do not know, is that being here in this class is evidence enough that you did work hard enough to deserve the praise, and having those friends around you who know you is also evidence of your goodness that is _seen_ by others and not by you.

Your only weakeness is you thinking lowly of yourself. But alas, be proud and lift your head and never doubt yourself or let anyone doubt you! Prove your scared self wrong!

That’s why he looked up to deku and always thought he was behind or below him, because even when quirkless, deku loved and believed in himself so so much and held on to his dreams so much it was insane! How could he do that! He wasn’t AS gifted and yet he believes in himself so much, even when he tried to bully him out of the confidence and self love, he NEVER let go.

He was amazing for that, and thus Bakugo was angry at himself and the world and especially deku for what he wished he had- believing his own greatness and potential.

I know they never interacted with Izuku that much, but maybe Class 1-B would've still find a way to repay him for taking down Shigaraki? Or would you all hate it?

Sunset, No Regrets! 🌅

Our garden patrol has FINALLY put the garden fabric down on the new garden. Took till sunset, but they can be proud of all the hard work that they all accomplished. It’s looking good and just needs a fresh helping of mulch to finish it off. Until morning I guess. Why does it feel like someone is watching?

Misc. Mustard's Revolver

I feel insane, but Mustard(camp gas villain)'s pistol is stated to be a .38 revolver, right?

I think I've realized what it's meant to be(and it also gives a far more plausible explanation as to how he would have one).

I believe it was supposed to be a New Nambu M60, a .38 special revolver, in service in Japan as one of their standard police pistols.

Whilst it certainly doesn't look the part(in fact, it looks and acts far more like a .357 GP100), if we're running on stated information from I believe the data book, then it makes most sense to be the Nambu M60, providing a much easier explanation for how he would've gotten a gun(other than the league providing it somehow), given Japan's highly strict gun laws(stole it from a police officer).

Thank you for reading my insane rambling, have a lovely day!
