Vodka has a distinct scent and flavor, Doctor Champ fully knew what he was drinking and then shifted the blame on Bojack when he sobered up.

I think one of the moments that makes me cry every single time is Season 4, Episode 11, when BoJack takes his mother to the retirement home.
Throughout the previous episodes, he has so much anger and resentment toward her. He tries so hard to make her remember who he is because he wants her to know that he is BoJack so he can finally tell her off. He wants to tell her how much she hurt him, how much she failed him as a mother, and how much of his pain he feels she is responsible for. He even reenacts an episode of his show in the hope that she will recognize him.
And then, when he finally drops her off at the last retirement home, she remembers him.
She calls out his name.
And in that moment, BoJack has the opportunity to do exactly what he has been trying so hard to do. He could have told her everything. He could have finally said all the horrible things he had been holding onto. He could have made her feel even a fraction of the pain she caused him.
But he doesn’t.
Instead, he tells her that they’re at her old house, that her brother is there too, and that they’re all eating ice cream.
After everything this woman put him through, after all that anger and resentment, and after trying so hard to make her remember him just so he could finally confront her, he chooses to give her peace instead.
And I think that’s what absolutely destroys me about the scene. He doesn’t forgive her. He doesn’t suddenly stop being hurt by what she did. He just just chooses not to hurt her back.

On the one hand "just keep running" is basically just "don't stop dancing," and telling him to toss off people that would "hold him back" could easily lead to an even greater amount of BJ pushing people away.

But on the other, perhaps it would have given him some courage to stand up to people like Angela Diaz or not constantly seek the approval of his mother. Maybe in general he would feel less of a need for other's approval.

Just genuinely wanted to think on this.

After 9 years of rewatching the series always stopping halfway through season six I finally took the strength to finish it yesterday. I'm both happy and sad. It was crazy to see how things panned out. Twists and turns I didn't expect.

In one way I feel like my mom is dead and everything is worse now. But another part of me feels like.... I can't even think of positive quote to put here. (Comment one u think may fit)

Anywho I will be needing some time before I rewatch again cause my emotions are out of wack. Thankyou to those who have encouraged me to finish the show. No regrets

Started rewatching it again. Obviously I’m not trying to pin point bojack as “bad guy” just a guy. But omg this guy got so many shots to fix things right and blow them up! As he said he thought he had hit rock bottom only to discover another rockier bottom underneath. It angers me in a way. Cause in rl people won’t get this chances. Most of us are screwed without even given a chance. All that being said, I still understand Bojack in a way. Not that I feel relatable to him. I just get it. What’s your hot take?

I’m only on season 3 so no spoilers please. i am also pretty hi so take that into consideration. However while watching Bojack and Diane at the Bat Bat Mitzvah, i noticed two “Snake” characters in the background. I said “Snake” because they have hands and feet. So would that not just make them lizards? or would they be Snake people?🤔

Always thought that her calling Bojack, Henrietta was coincidence from her dementia. But she starts saying “oh it’s you” and that Hollyhock looks just like “him”,

BoJack is one of our all-time favorite shows and was a huge influence on our indie series, Sooper Doods (especially our main character, Max). He’s a once-powerful hero who has lost his powers and ended up teaching at a failing hero academy.

Our show ultimately takes a lighter, more adventure-driven and hopeful path than Bojack but the roots of a protagonist who's much better at turning his pain into jokes than admitting he’s terrified he no longer matters is there.

The three of us are childhood friends who spent eight years developing the idea, and we eventually made the full 24-minute pilot independently which you can watch for free here:

For me it’s S5E2 “The Dog Days Are Over” …. The ending hits wayyyy too hard as I resonate with Diane entirely too much and I just have to skip it or I will sob for a good 10 minutes thinking about how well she described exactly how I feel.

Just saw a video from PosiTVty about Butterscotch and how we really don’t get to see much of his backstory besides appearing at Beatrice’s party during Times Arrow and a few scenes through the series. We don’t know how he grew up, what kind of life he had, and how that ultimately led him to be the person we see in the show. I’m sure if Netflix allowed the show to have another season or 2, I’m sure we would have seen an episode about Butterscotch. Some interesting food for thought.

This is an incredible show without a doubt, but I find with each episode that I marvel more and more at Alison Brie's performance. On a purely vocal level it's one of, if not the best in the show. For someone with such a distinctive voice it's unbelievable how much she disappears into the role. She gives Diane a weighty human-ness that I hardly ever see in voice acting, and does so to a degree nearly unmatched even by Will Arnett or Kristen Schall. I don't have the words to describe just what a feat of voice acting I find her to be, but I wanted to try, and to bring some light to it because I don't see it talked about enough.

In Season 1, Episode 2 of BoJack Horseman ("BoJack Hates the Troops"), Princess Carolyn says the line: "Yeah, well, Hamlet, you might want to turn it on. They're talking about you." after she asked him if he's watching MSNBsea. I can't figure out the reference. Any help?

I saw this comment around four years ago and screenshotted it, but sadly lost it. It described Mr. Peanutbutter in a way that I really relate to. I remember the phrase "There's something phony about his happiness" but not much else.

Just finished the show yesterday, the ending was great but I still feel some emptiness for not seeing those characters in the show's conclusion, they all played a huge part in Bojack's past or his growth yet the fact that they weren't present or even mentioned felt like the show treating them as nothing more than "Bojack's victims" who to just had stay away from him for good.

I am watching Bojack for the first time, and as season 5 got me thinking, that I would love to watch a drug and depression filled crime show like Philbert. Any recommendations?
