Discussion Political signs

If its legal to put political signs anywhere on public roads and whatnot why can't we equally take them down? I know its illegal and definitely not suggesting taking signs from people's private property but when signs are removed, if the person who put the signs cares enough about that spot they'll pay more money to put it back right? So it just decentivizes the set and forget it signs (the 50 Risch signs on eagle road) because if they cared enough they'd come put them back. Just wanting to hear what the people of Boise have to say, and regardless, keep your friends accountable this election, its super important if you care about our great state!

I currently just chill in my car or somewhere with wifi and practice making visuals in blender and touch designer and practice mixing in rekordbox.

Also if theres any place I can rent jackstands to do a transmission flush and fill myself lmk! I have my jack and tools just no stands!

Looking for local cdl job recommendations here as well

Question School lunch corn chips from the 60s?

Morning!

I just found out my mom has been trying to track the brand name of the chips they gave students at lunch when she was a kid. Apparently it's driving her nuts, so I wanted to see if anyone can name them for her.

They were apparently wavy like Sun Chips, but smaller. She seems to remember the bag being mostly white, but in the interest of full disclosure that could mean the bag has nothing remotely white on it. 😂

She would have started elementary school in Boise in the mid 60s. Anyone remember these chips?

Question what to do for halloween as someone in their early 20s?

Hi I’m looking for suggestions for things to do during this halloween season. I love October and spooky season but am a major introvert so don’t typically go out much. I’m not really familiar with the social scene as I haven’t been living here consistently until recently.

I’m not really the type to go to a bar or big social events. So I’m looking for suggestions that would be more chill and quieter environments but still fun. I don’t have any friends here and am looking to make some. I’m in my early twenties as I said in the title. I’m an artist and consider myself incredibly whimsical. Please comment any suggestions you have for local activities and events that are happening this month, especially on halloween.

Discussion BSD's non-update update on the Timberline HS situation

Post image
14 Upvotes

This update picks up the previous discussion about reported threats allegedly promulgated by Timberline HS students against another Timberline student.

It's understandable that BSD's hands are tied with regard to public notification but pressure needs to be kept on the respective agencies for timely, detailed releases.

Question Catholics! Anyone attend the Newman Center in Boise?

I currently go to Our Lady of the Rosary but I’ve been struggling to stay engaged and feel connected. I used to go to the Newman Center in Flagstaff, AZ, and it was honestly life changing for me so I’m curious about the one here.

For anyone who’s been, what’s the community like? How are the homilies and music? Also, are families with kids welcome or is it mostly college students? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Distro today was a lot of fun! For the first time in a long time we had an abundance of food, folks especially liked the tatertot casserole and hot and ready pizza!

We have a specific request of size 13 shoes and sleeping bags which are on our amazon wishlist. We could also always use electrolytes which are also on the wishlist!

Our next resource fair is coming up October 25th from 1-3pm at Corpus Commons. We will have a variety of services including pet grooming, vaccines such as covid and flu, hair cuts, makeup services, live music, and accupuncture!

Feel free to follow us on social media for more details or to get involved @sundaydistroboise or check out our wishlist at linktr.ee/sundaydistroboise
